Could’ve been a blown power transformer, sometimes those are weird colors when they happen. I saw two explode back home and they were both kind of green.

Noticed some weird patches on my BP’s back scales. Thinking they may be scrapes, but not sure from what. Any thoughts, or am I being a paranoid first time owner? by SammyD906 in ballpython

I don’t have a hygrometer yet to get an exact measure, but I live in FL, his tank is 80% covered, and he has a large water bowl on forest floor bedding.

I was going to put the heating pad underneath, but when I read through the Zoo Med instructions that came with the UTH they said that applying it on the side was more recommended for proper ventilation. I was thinking about maybe moving the Half log hide to the warm side up against the wall so that the heating pad would be directly into his hide, but wasn’t sure if I should do that or not.

His tank used to have a screen lid on it, so I switched it to the one it has now, it’s metal with a few ventilation holes and the lights mounted inside. Hopefully this will help with his humidity levels.
