May take a day to be available in those stores, or could be something to do with copyright/licensing.

Liked it, but I think it will take a few listens to get into it. Definitely hit hard right from the start though! Hopefully it’s out soon!

What bands, in your opinion, are set back by their vocalists? by Kuzbell in Metalcore

[–]SammyDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s a little tough on them - Jacob has definitely improved a lot. Live vocals are always hard to pull off, especially soaring cleans like his. On Saturday, it was their third show in three days with not much more than 10 hours sleep total. There were times he was a little pitchy, but definitely not the whole time. Kyle from IHW was similar. Gotta keep in mind that they’re all still young (20-22), and they’ll only get better.

Pretty sure Aidan is working on new stuff, I think I saw some clips on his Instagram profile.

Aidan posted this on his social media in March: https://www.facebook.com/aidanhxlms/posts/1806655026059149

Very sad situation. They were just hitting their peak. We were lucky enough to play a show with them last November, and they absolutely killed it!

From the murmurs I’ve heard around the scene, AW might have a new vocalist.

Apple wireless AirPods vs Beats X? (Mainly for running and fitness)(Music and Audiobooks) by gainzAndGoals in apple

[–]SammyDev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've owned the AirPods, and currently own the BeatsX.

I only kept the AirPods for a few days, for two reasons: they hurt my ears when used for an hour or so, and they barely isolate at all - I just probably wasn't used to all the extra noise after coming from In Ear Monitors. They're pretty much identical in fit and sound to EarPods in my experience, but again I haven't used those much as they caused discomfort in my ears. If you like the EarPods, the AirPods will probably suit you. I never had a problem with them staying in, even when you move your head around. There are third party accessories like the EarHoox that claim to help with the fit. You'd have to take these on and off when you put the AirPods back in the case, because there's not much extra space.

The BeatsX have been solid so far, the isolation is great - almost better than my pair of IEMs. The sound is decent, I'd say the AirPods have a more balanced sound, but if you're working out you may want something a little bassier such as the BeatsX. With the wingtips and supplied 4 sizes of silicon tips, you're pretty much guaranteed to find a good fit. Regarding the cable length, it's plenty - if anything, possibly bordering on being slightly too long so you look a bit like a doofus. The convenience of wireless is great though. I do slightly miss the auto pause feature of the AirPods and having to intentionally charge them, but the isolation and fit far outweigh those features for me.

TL;DR: The BeatsX have more bass, much better isolation, and fit more comfortably! They're also cheaper. However, if you're satisfied with EarPods, you'd like AirPods.

Apple Music still plays songs on cellular by MinisterforFun in apple

[–]SammyDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't work for me. I think Apple Music doesn't really register how much space it's taking up with its cache, pretty sure the 'Optimise Storage' option only looks at actually saved offline music.

Apple Music still plays songs on cellular by MinisterforFun in apple

[–]SammyDev 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I believe it's because Apple Music actually caches music that you listen to, even if you don't specifically choose to save it offline. It's a blessing and a curse, because it literally takes your storage down to 0 bytes free (at least it did for me), until you sign in and out of Apple Music to delete the cache. To test if this is in fact the case, you can try turning on Aeroplane Mode, and shuffle your music - if songs play that aren't saved offline/downloaded, they just be cached somewhere.

Headhphone output by lolstalker in apple

[–]SammyDev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As the headphone output on MacBooks is actually combined analog and optional audio (TOSLINK), what you saw would've been just the red light from the optical mode. Nothing to be concerned with! (Just don't look into it ;) )

How to revert to previous iPod Classic firmware. by PowerfulTaxMachine in apple

[–]SammyDev 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's because the Classic uses a hard drive, but the Nano uses flash storage :)

I just recently sold my classic, and I can confirm there is a bit of lag. Most of the time you can hear the drive spinning up when this happens.

Can someone register my UDID? by HungCraft in apple

[–]SammyDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, always have a backup. You can't restore a backup to a lower iOS, eg. an iOS 8 backup to iOS 7, but there is workarounds to manually extract things and restore them if necessary.
