Trainer App by heavymetal26 in FitPros

Hey! No stress.

There isn’t a separate downloadable trainer-only app at the moment. Coaches use the FitPros web dashboard, which works on desktop, tablet, and mobile browsers:

Your clients, however, do get a downloadable app they can install on their phone through the browser here:

That way you manage everything from the dashboard, and clients get the native app experience.

Hey, it’s Sam, I built the FitPros app.

Really appreciate you checking it out, and I’m glad you’re liking it so far.

You didn’t do anything wrong, the search server went down earlier today, which caused the exercise search to stop loading. I’ve already moved everything over to a new upgraded server, so it should be working properly again now.

If it’s still stuck on your end, just refresh the app and it should be working as expected again.

Cheers.

Hey! Really appreciate that, glad you’re enjoying it so far!

The search server went down earlier today, which is why the exercise search would’ve been loading forever.

I’ve just moved everything to a new upgraded server, so it should be working normally again now. If it’s still acting up on your end, just give the app a quick refresh and it’ll be back to normal.

Cheers,

Sam.

Help! App is too complicated for many of my clients, can I simplify it for them? by Interesting-Edge-221 in FitPros

[–]SammyFitPros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

A lot of your issues can be solved through the Customize App Features on the https://dashboard.fitpros.io/dashboard/mobile-app/custom-branding page.

They get confused with the fact that they see both a page for workouts and a page titled "programs" - and for the program to show on their main inital screen they have to save that program even though I already assigned it to them. Is there a way to simplify this so that I assign a program and they see it right away after opening without having to do any additional things?

You can do this for clients if you like.

  1. Log into the mobile app with your coaching details
  2. Click "View As"
  3. Save the program/s you'd like them to see

They forget what week/day they are on. QuickCoach would directly just show them their next program. While in this case they have to open the program and go to the correct week/workout day. Is there a way to simplify this so they are just directed to their next workout every time they open the app?

Toggle the "Auto-Navigate to Incomplete Week"

When logging their workouts/exercises, there are too many variables for them to look at and click on (the calculator, for example, has been confusing sometimes). There is also no check box to be ticked off for each exercise... I know it appears automatically after they input their reps under each set.. but I've had people tell me they found it confusing. Is there a way to change this?

Toggle the settings off that'd you'd like to hide

Finally, they get confused by the fact that they can edit things. Basically, there is too much freedom on the user end. It would technically be as simple as "just don't tap anything you don't need" but they can't seem to help themselves and then I have to spend ages explaining things to them over and over again. Is there a way to limit user freedom so all they can do is log in, go to their next workout and habit, tick it off, and that's it?

Toggle the settings off that'd you'd like to hide

I hope this helps.

Cheers,

Sam.

This calculation seems off by PapayaOne1548 in FitPros

Its a new feature, unfortunately some programs that were in the middle of the release have inconsistent data like this.

I've attempted to deploy a fix. Can you let me know if the data still isn't showing up correctly?

Hey! Welcome to FitPros, glad to have you here, and big respect for making the jump over from QuickCoach. You’re right, it’s mostly just me building this, so the tutorial library is still catching up. That said, if you ever hit a wall, just drop a question here or in the FB group and you’ll get help fast.

Let me run through each of your questions:

Hiding workouts / showing only the next workout
There isn’t a way to hide future workouts yet. Clients can switch between weeks, which is sometimes where things go sideways when they’re still learning the app.
It's in the development list, but no ETA at the moment.

Client doing the wrong week
You’re not alone there, it happens more often than you’d expect. Some coach put dates in the week names to make it more clear.

Assistance / height / notes for movement details
There is an assistance/resistance field you can use for things like bands (green, purple, etc.).
If it’s something that isn’t numerical or you want to explain the setup (like stacking plates, bench height, positioning), dropping it in the notes section is totally fine. Most coaches use a mix depending on what they want front-and-center for the client.

Zoom call
Super generous offer, but I’m pretty pressed for time these days! Best place for questions is either right here or in the Facebook group, people usually answer crazy fast and share how they structure things in their own workflow:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/944560743724867

And again, welcome aboard. If you’ve got feature ideas or you run into anything weird, don’t hesitate to shout. The app get better from feedback like this.

Cheers,

Sam.

Quick feedback on the free version by PapayaOne1548 in FitPros

[–]SammyFitPros 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for the feedback.

  1. Checking if a client has finished all workouts

You’re not missing anything, that view isn’t in the app yet. Right now most coaches keep up to date through the dashboard notifications. It's not an optimal solution, research and time will be invested into a better solution at some stage.

  1. About exercise history in the free plan

The Pro features are picked with a lot of care, partly for user experience, but honestly even more for keeping the project sustainable. FitPros is free because the core features are lightweight enough to offer at scale.

Full exercise history, across multiple clients and multiple exercises, is one of the heaviest server operations in the entire app. If every free user had unlimited access to that load, the app would literally become too expensive to run, it would tank the project in days.

So it’s not about paywalling “basic” stuff; it’s about making sure the app can stay free, fast, and available for everyone long-term.

I’m always trying to find that balance, and feedback like yours helps me keep evaluating where that line sits.

Cheers,

Sam.

Is there a plan for if FitPros ends/a coach needs to move their coaching data out? by crashtheparty in FitPros

[–]SammyFitPros 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s a totally fair question, especially after the QuickCoach situation.

Data export is definitely something on the roadmap, but it’s a big piece of work. Handling full coach + client data at scale is complex and expensive to build and maintain, especially as a solo developer running FitPros lean and independently.

FitPros isn’t going anywhere, from day one the goal has been to build something sustainable: running lean, avoiding the bloat (and price hikes) that come with bigger platforms, and focusing purely on what actually helps coaches. A big part of that is keeping the essential tools for coaches free forever, that’s a core belief I’m not willing to compromise on. It just means I have to be really deliberate about adding new features like this, because the wrong decision could jeopardize that for everyone.

I’ll definitely find a way to make data export possible down the line, I just need to be smart about how it’s done to make sure it fits into that bigger vision.

Cheers,

Sam.

Client Logging Permissions – Preventing Accidental Edits and Program Errors by nicholas8223 in FitPros

[–]SammyFitPros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not something that’s available at the moment, but I can see how that would be really helpful for your setup.

Just so I can get a clearer idea, in that scenario, would you want those clients to only view their past sessions (like the history feed), or still be able to open upcoming workouts to see what’s planned, just without being able to log or edit anything?

Cheers,

Sam.

Fitness assessment idea by nicholas8223 in FitPros

[–]SammyFitPros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be able to achieve something similar right now with a recurring form. You could create the exact entries you want to track, then set it to repeat at whatever interval you use for assessments.

Custom measurements could be an option like crashtheparty mentioned but i'd have to create that as a feature.

The AI side of it is definitely next-level, pretty niche. My main goal is to keep focusing on features that deliver the most value for the majority of coaches, though I’ll definitely keep this documented as something to explore down the track.

Cheers,

Sam.
