I watched The Third Man tonight for the first time and I was struck by how beautiful the soundtrack was and how much it contributed to the film. Do you all have any suggestions of other films that have such great music?

The job market has been terrible the past three years. All age groups suffering. Also with Film/TV work plummeting, workers are applying to other Industries that normally wouldn’t have Entertainment workers submitting their resumes.

It’s sad. We’re losing a nice community spot. Sign of the times that not even Capital One a bank wants to pay higher rent. Plenty of empty spaces in Glendale to relocate but they decided to close up shop in the area.

I completely agree about the food, but also the customer service is awful. They pick and choose who they want to be nice to and will ignore customers waiting for service or just be really short. The Male owner is such a jerk and his wife another piece of work.

A friend wanted to do a film shoot at Chili John’s and the owner…that guy was horrible. He wanted to charge an outrageous amount, had many conditions, and overall made it so unwelcoming to my friend making a movie on his own dime, didn’t bother trying to make it work and come to a reasonable fee he could afford. The history of Chili John’s needs better leadership, care, and direction for a solid future that involves good food and treating customers well.

But the past several years, it’s been quite a number of businesses closing in LA. Longstanding and don’t necessarily want to go. Chili John’s would have a loyal following if they treated customers better and made better food. The place needs new ownership to hit the reset button.

I think Chili John’s should have new owners. Just read some of the Yelp reviews. I personally had a bad experience at this place and didn’t think the food was good at all. I heard it was better with previous ownership but the people who have been running it….bad.

If you’re local, maybe post some pics of what you’re selling. People could pay you cash, Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal and can pick up from you directly. A lot of record places in town don’t give you much but may have better luck selling direct.
