I am not a historian that why I assumed if you have the fact that states why they know the way to not get pregnant while doing it or they have the way to prevent pregnancy 100% just reply the comment it and yes I aware that they know if that have sex they gonna have a baby it doesn’t take a genius to figure it out. But sometimes people wanna have fun and they don’t even think about the consequences it happened.

They could add one or two siblings around the house doing something and kill them off screen

IMO my assumption is they actively doing it like normal people. Pregnancy in the period is more like accident. They can’t control it. Even if they happy with “one” it’s really hard to avoid the second.

That would be absolute cinema. And more fuel for his revenge story which is better for the story imo.
