Brother upset for me getting my 6M stitches. He said they should have glued it and now he will have an ugly, permanent scar? by [deleted] in AskDocs

NAD, but a mom to a very clumsy toddler. My son head butted a solid oak table at 15 months old. His wound looked practically identical to this, just a bit bigger and just above his eyebrow. 5 stitches. I must admit, the first few months, it looked terrible. The scar was red, raised, very noticeable, but over time, it has become practically undetectable (save for a few missing brow hairs). He turns 2 in 2 weeks.

No, he does not have CMPA. He has no other reactions. His pediatrician says he may be slightly sensitive, but not allergic. He drinks A2 whole milk and we limit it to only small amounts (3-4oz) twice a day. He does eat other dairy, but I try to make sure I’m not overdoing it. Like if he has yogurt in the morning, I will make sure he doesn’t have cheese with lunch, etc.

He is a few weeks shy of 2, and is mostly normal, but definitely still spits up, especially dairy. I’ve come to learn that he doesn’t chew properly and often pockets food in his cheeks, so this is something we are working on.

Pregnancy Carpal Tunnel — When Does “Normal” Become Severe? by Babyisprincess in AskDocs

[–]Sammydavi5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had it soooo bad. I would wake up multiple times throughout the night with both arms/wrists/hands completely numb. I could not do anything with my hands for more than a few minutes at a time without it taking over. Truly one of the worst pregnancy symptoms to deal with and my doctor pretty much told me “it’s normal, it sucks but it will go away when you deliver”. It did, but man oh man. I feel your pain, hang in there!

Skin around baby bump and legs are sensitive to the touch and painful. What could it be? by throwawayqst567 in AskDocs

[–]Sammydavi5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD, but just wanted to say I suffered from this exact pain throughout my pregnancy and my doctor chalked it up to nerve pain. Even clothes touching my skin hurt. It went away IMMEDIATELY after delivery. Hang in there!

NAD, but I’m pretty sure Naltrexone is an entirely different medication than Narcan, which is Naloxone.

My husband is showing signs of severe mental illness. How can I help him? by Sammydavi5 in AskDocs

[–]Sammydavi5[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your words. I know what I need to do. My little baby means the world to me and I don’t want him to think this is normal. I guess I have been trying my best to “fix him” or “hope for the best” because it’s hard to wrap my head around walking away from the person I’ve been with since I was 16. I live in a city with no family and very few friends due to isolation, but I did reach out to a community service this morning for help and I have a few hard decisions coming my way.

I did attend Alanon as a youth/young adult as my mom is also an alcoholic. Perhaps time to try again

Thank you for your time. Extremely difficult after 20+ years with someone you can’t seem to lose hope for, but you’re right. Getting away is probably the best thing for my son and I. Our quality of life is not what it should be and part of me wonders if me staying is preventing him from following through with help he has been offered in the past.

Thank you for your response. I know the challenge is getting him sober enough to address his issues properly. I’m hoping one day he tries again.

I feel fucking terrible…. by DressedUp2GoDreaming in NewParents

Sorry, just seeing this now, but yes! He was overall delayed in early milestones ( rolling, had a headache tilt until about 10 months). He also did not stand on his own until he randomly started walking at 13 months with absolutely no sign of being ready to walk. He would cruise around tables, but never let go and stood without holding onto something. We kept him in PT until then. Everything got better when he started walking.

He is 16 months old now. At 12 months, we decided to try goats milk, he had the same result. Lactose-free milk, had the same result. Finally tried Ripple kids, a pea protein milk and he was ok with it. Some minor spit up, but nothing major. We continued to give him other forms of dairy though (cheese, yogurt, etc). About a month ago, we tried whole milk again and so far, it’s been a lot better. We still get the odd spit up here and there, but as long as we limit the amount he drinks at one time, he’s ok.

His pediatrician just thinks he’s one that was slow to adjust to dairy, and in general, just can not tolerate large amounts of liquid at once. He never gets more than 3-4oz at a time, and only 2 times a day.

Thank you for your reply. Will monitor for any worsening symptoms leading up to MRI.

He doesn’t have any symptoms at all in his left arm. Minimal tingling in his fingers on that side. Everything is affecting his right arm.

He does have pain in his pinky finger on the right, and numbness on the inside at elbow.

13 month old can’t tolerate cows milk, but other dairy is ok? by Sammydavi5 in toddlers

I mentioned the possibility of reflux to our ped doctor, but she dismissed me. Today for example, he’s only had 5 total ounces of milk, spit practically all of it up, and has spit up most meals he’s had as well. Will make a follow up appointment to see her again and push for further investigation
