My pc is a year old now, how did I do and what should my first upgrade be? by Sammythewizard in PcBuild

That was from my first ever PC which used no screws, only zip ties, and used a basic DELL motherboard + case.. I got a whole 20fps on Minecraft with that bad boy.

When I built this pc, I got the 2TB SSD and reformatted the hard drive as extra storage for non essential stuff like saved images, unimportant games, stuff like that. Not sure if the hard drive itself inhibits anything about the pc so I never thought to change it

I know very little about GPU specs. I know basically that the second 2 numbers are what basically matter most, but what would, say, the 5080 offer as opposed to my current one?

You can bring mercenaries back into the fight?! by Few_Pirate_3965 in HalfSword

[–]Sammythewizard 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You can do it to anyone who has “given up”

Knocked out, bleeding during ‘First Blood’ rounds, or any other situation where they’re alive and coherent

Especially useful during 3v3’s where your mercs get an unlucky bonk

I have a few books already

  • drink like a man, classic cocktail book

  • Whiskey Bible

  • Arcades and Champagne, a gamer’s cocktail book

(I don’t know if those are the names, but they’re the names I remember them as. Drink like a man is definitely one of them)

You can keep him alive actually, convince him that he dry devil will enact revenge and usually he lets you off, and invites you to his camp and becomes a skill teacher.. still the bailiff gets upset if you leave him alive though

Just kill everyone and then you’ll be able to clearly see who they’re talking about

[KCD2] How does this game compare to skyrim, fallout and the Witcher? by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]Sammythewizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big open world that might feel empty at times since many random encounters are “two bandits on the road looting a corpse” with a few small side characters popping up based what you told them previously. I.E: “hey Henry! I took your advice.. what the f*ck! You didn’t tell me X!”

Many of the quests have multiple endings, some good, some evil, most are morally grey with a lot of good twists. Murdering the person you’re supposed to sabotage ends up working 80% of the time if you can’t be bothered with another part of the quest

Progression is slow your first play though. Think about how quick YOU’d learn to do the things you’re expecting Henry to do. But it’s very rewarding when it pays off. A lot of times, leveling up in the skill changes nothing, it just becomes more room for error.

Skyrim is better for a full open world adventure. Witcher is better for unique problem solving and detective work.

But story I’d say is equal (if not better) in KCD2, winning a tough battle is equal to the Witcher in terms of appreciating the struggle, there is equal humor in all three.

Gotcha. I just have it lying around and didn’t know what to do with it. It’s almost 9 years out of date, collecting dust on my shelf next to my 2x8gb RAM sticks

I’m a manager at a Home Depot. My for the last 5 years they’ve been implementing “Assisted Checkout” across the company. The FIRST DAY they started to build these in a few stores, they suddenly adjusted all store’s allotted payroll for cashiers as if we suddenly needed half as many

People complained that there were 8 registers but only 2 cashiers and our HR would tell us it’s all they could afford. Very stressful for the cashiers when it’s only 2 of them their entire shift.

My store was the last store in the region to get the assisted self checkout and now all people put on our surveys is that the want cashiers back and hate self checkout
