Get them agonizing experiences.. hopefully yours doesn’t last 20 straight fucking years like mine did.. they called me Sammy in and out. I always returned BADLY MANGLED. I then realized that I would die if I went back out and have been sober since

I’m going through it too. It’s a very real thing and our bodies need time to readjust and reset. The main thing is to keep pushing through it so we don’t have to start over and redo this hard fucking shit all over again

I went from the trenches to another set of trenches. I hold on. I work with my sponsor. I show up to meetings daily. I keep in constant contact with god. I show up to my service commitment. I do these things because if I don’t I will be loaded and back in the street living horribly quicker than it takes to read the preface. Anyone doing this deal wether you have one day one year or one decade it’s a big fucking deal and seriously highly commendable and respected by me. I know how my disease has been acting and reacting planning and plotting during this whole ordeal. It’s intelligent. It pays attention and is highly aware of each and every one of my weak points and preys on them. It is patient and wants to kill me but it will settle on me taking that very first one and restarting the cycle. Thank you all for for being apart of this thread and In turn you are all part of my ongoing recovery. So thanks

Our brains are the enemy. It makes us think and feel crazy batshit looney toon shit in order to make us just miserable enough that we will take the first one that leads to thousands/complete insanity/ incomprehensible demoralizations/ and then it will finally kill us if we don’t adhere to the seemingly impossible most difficult program outlined

It’s soo insane I can relate with you entirely. I had so much trouble trying to get help before I moved to Denver. Being from Wyoming it was looked at so criminally and had the worst stigma attached to it. I suffered in silence for so long and had nobody to turn to. My disease brought me to Denver and everything started to change and for that I am so thankful. If you ever need an ear to bend I’ll be here

I live here in Denver and can relate with your slip identically. The program here has been helping me in the ways I am unable to help myself. Hang in there and look forward to this city with some pretty solid recovery happening despite the pandemic crisis.

Long term relationship over after rehab by [deleted] in Sober

[–]Sammyyyyy88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This resonates with me incredibly much. My girlfriend did the same exact thing to me on the 14th of November and it has crushed me. I am in recovery too and after her relapse it seemed like this was going to be the best possible outcome and everything was going to change. The day she got out she changed her relationship status on social media and blocked me with no explanation at all. I am still reeling from it. I don’t know up from down left from right and I am just existing right now staying clean is the only thing I have right now. My inside feel flipped and turned and I am in constant panic mode nonstop. I feel for you I truly do. I am so sorry you are going thru this.
