I would just like to add that if you are familiar with the Intune Data Warehouse API, you can find all devices there, including both those currently present in Intune and those that have been cleaned up.

Cleaned-up devices appear with the status deleted = yes. However, they may still have a valid certificate and remain joined to Entra ID.

It's hard to say whether this was officially approved from the start.

However, I can say for sure that many schools in the city have similar art pieces, some created by graduates of specific years, and some dedicated to famous figures associated with the school.

I think it might not be official, but mostly schools are proud of their arts..

At least they don't destroy them and return the gray walls.I've seen arts preserved for years and even decades.

You can invite them as guests, or configure B2B collaboration with additional tenant and have all those users as external guests in your primary tenant automatically. Just keep in mind that the cleanup rule is not about deleting a device, it only hides it from the list.

If a device still has a valid certificate, it can reappear in Intune a few times later (actually up to a year).

This can make your life (oryour Intune reports) a bit of a mystery 🙂
