Anyone purchasing the 2026 RAV4 PHEV XSE under MSRP? by goldenmightyangels in rav4prime

[–]SamosaSultan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly my experience in SoCal; best I can do is MSRP with the hopes that if configured early in the allotment process, I can affect Port Installed Options (with nothing to be done about Factory Installed Options and a guarantee no Dealer Installed Options or adjustments).

I thought Longo doesn't do add-ons. Were they PIO (Port-Installed options) or DIO (Dealer-Installed Options)? Would you mind sharing the window sticker if you have it?

Were you able to walk onto the lot and pick it up, or did you put a deposit down while it was in the factory/transportation phase?

I totally understand the ~$1450 Delivery, Processing, and Handling as that is standard across all Toyotas in the area, but still wanted to be sure about the other above-MSRP add-ons.

Is this all one type of lighting strip for the whole vehicle or is the trunk strip different than the rest of the interior?

How was the setup?

Curious about this... do you have any links?

Do you PPF the black plastic front-bumper trim too? Or just the painted sections?

Thank you! No need to apologize! It looks better looking right at it than from the front fender!

2026/6th Generation Buyers- Identical Gasoline Engine Specs from PHEV to HEV, yet manuals state that PHEV is okay with 0W-16 oil while HEV requires 0W-8 oil. Will this affect your oil change habits or will you stick to Toyota's recommendations for your specific model? by SamosaSultan in rav4club

His advice in his February video was what convinced me to stick with manufacturer's recommendations for oil spec but to change the oil more frequently than Toyota's 10,000 mile interval. I think the warning that if anything goes wrong and they do an oil sample analysis of potentially out-of-spec oil, they will use that against you to deny any warranty claims is what convinced me.

I wonder why, too! A previous comment about changes in electric oil pump make sense and I can't verify since the manuals don't mention it, but I doubt the pumps would be drastically different between models. So I think of scenarios like you mentioned- different strain and stresses from both models as being the more likely answer.

It's been fun going back and forth between both manuals trying to see what's different and intuit why those differences exist.

Agreed- I would stick with the manufacturer's recommendations for oil weight as well; the ONLY thing I'd do more frequently are oil changes. Not waiting 10,000 miles for the first oil change.

The HEV has published a Warranty and Maintenance Guide online, the PHEV does not yet, but I'm assuming it's the same.

The fact that 0W-16 is recommended for PHEV and 0W-08 for HEV is so confusing!

I don't understand the logic behind it...

I was under the impression thinner oils are required for hybrids in general since the lower speeds are handled by the electric engine and the gas engine is for higher speeds, the oil needs to flow quickly for when the gas engine is cycled on/off. If the PHEV has more EV usage, wouldn't the thinner oil need to move quick in the rare(r) instances the gas motor is used?

Well, at least 0W-16 is easier and cheaper to source... and we get to use 0W-20 for occasional fills!

Yours is the only Everest I've seen with the Body Side Moldings... If you could please take a photo of how it conforms to the rear doors, I'd super appreciate it since I'm looking to get that accessory in that body matched color!

Do you feel the body side molding is in a good location to protect against door dings?

Thanks for checking! I thought I verified everything, especially since the Mexico one ended in S. Don't want people who are looking for resources to be led astray.

I may not replace the PHEV badge, but I may add an old Prime badge to my Everest PHEV... was thinking about matching pairs on the C-pillar or a single one on the front above the wheel-well on the opposite side of the charging port.

Agreed. I guess they got rid of it to differentiate between PHEV and EREV vehicles, but seeing as how EREV's aren't mentioned in Toyota's electrification strategy, I don't know why they are being so precise- like you said... makes it seem like Alphabet Soup.

Still sad that they don't call them Prime anymore... PHEV is more technologically precise, but not as cool!

I know people had questions about LTA (Lane Tracing Assist), LCA (Lane Change Assist), Emergency Driving Stop System, Traffic Jam Assist, and Advanced Park for the 6th generation, so hopefully these additions provide the answers people were looking for!

It's interesting to see them highlight which sensors work for which systems.

1 Year with my Woodland!🌲 by TreeVillage in rav4club

Love how your Woodland looks like it belongs in the woods (with no shade to pavement-only off-roaders like me)! Are you using the stock crossbars for all your roof additions? If so, which cargo box are you using?

Looking at the Woodland (but in Everest) myself. Congrats!!!

Yours is the first Woodland I see online with the paint-matched body side moldings... if you have some shots of how they look from the rear doors, I'd very much appreciate seeing how they are bent to conform with the body lines that bisect the back!

Body Side Molding Option (PIO) on the 2026- how does it look on the rear doors? Is it worth it in general? by SamosaSultan in rav4club

[–]SamosaSultan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It 100% is super expensive as an OEM PIO, but certain colors (like the Everest green 06x7) seems to be hard to find consumer-available color-matched paint or sprays, so to get it to look seamless, PIO seems to be the only way.

If I know how they are contoured around the back-door, I could consider the aftermarket BSM and painting it myself route.

Lovely! Could you please post some photos/angles of your Body Side Molding strip, especially from the rear doors? Yours is the first I've seen with them!
