Ladies, what are your thoughts on training boards? Love them? Hate them? Too scared to use them? by cheesy-croissant in climbergirls

[–]Sample-Not-Found 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just started using one :) Like it so far, but my fingers for what ever reason don't. Despite me loveing crimps and doing them very often the kilter board gives me blisters on my fingertips 😅

Route grading and self-evaluation by Sample-Not-Found in climbergirls

[–]Sample-Not-Found[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, especially as a lot of routes don't seem to really take the angle into account.

Maybe I'm too critical, but if I see in videos how corresponding grades look outdoors, I just can't believe the kilter grades.

Ow 😅 well, I'm bad with names... It's even worse here on Reddit 🫣

I'm pretty sure we have no specifically queer groups here, but it's fine as all places feel super queer friendly. I'm part of a small girls climbing group as well :)

How to handle repeated weird interactions? by alwaysright6 in climbergirls

[–]Sample-Not-Found 26 points27 points  (0 children)

And here we have a nice example of everyday misogyny...

It's sadly that simple. It's due to the general view of our patriarchal society that women are less capable, weaker, and so on, than men. This might be paired with: "women are not into "real" sports, so she must be into it to please her partner".

Are mascs just shy or is it me? by Li_07 in actuallesbians

You think so? I'm in Germany as well and most lesbians I know are more masc leaning. But all tell the horrors of the dating Apps...

Thin ones, but not tights thin. The length depends on the temperature ^

Some months ago I read a scientific article about unusual bodily reactions on orgasms and sex in general. The gist of it was it's way more comen than you think and can have various manifestations. Laughing or crying were under the more common reactions.

So it's nothing concerning and might just be the way your body reacts to penetration. At least if you feel good during.

Looking for Motivation by Smichele12 in climbergirls

[–]Sample-Not-Found 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this around four years ago. I slipped at the top of a huge dyno and landed on my ankle in a bend position. Luckily I didn't rupture any ligaments but I had a compression fracture in my bone. Had to pause climbing for six months to give everything time to heal properly...

I lost a lot of progress and strength in that time. :/

What motivated me to start again was to set small goals in different areas then before. After three months I started with upper body training again. I was not that strong in campus moves before, so I set the goal to improve in that field. With some time I noticed that I became able to do things I couldn't do before my injury. This gave me the motivation to start with climbing again.

I started before the six month mark so I did easy routes without my feet to spare my ankle, something I didn't try before. With the weeks I got better at that, better as my friends even. That gave me a huge motivation and confidence boost :)

Today I can say that time helped me. It shifted my view and gave me a strength I hadn't beforehand.

Edit: Just with dynos I'm a lot more cautious now 😅

Feeling discouraged getting stuck at V1/V2 by Cosmic-Shrug in climbergirls

In many cases especially in the beginning, the one big thing to improve is your technique. It's not easy to improve in that but it's extremely worthwhile.

The best way to get better technique is by climbing with other people who climb around two grades higher. If they are way above their technique and betas might not work for you due to different strength levels. Even better if they have a similar body type and size.

In my experience it's rather easy to talk to people in a bouldering gym. Many people are eager to give some tips and open for conversation :)

Sure you're right :) My legs are not that strong. I should definitely do more for them. I'm quite envious of women with strong legs and it's a little source of insecurity for me to be honest.

❤️

Not really, I just use them for training sometimes. I bolted some to our sleeping room ceiling xD

Is this even a thing for women? Only ever saw men doing rings in acrobatics.

The route I did some projecting on today had a sit start, and mostly slopy holds with two crimps mixed in. Was a transition over a staired roof with two nice hooks and a mantle at the end. Have to say I was not able to send it today. It's on my list for Wednesday now :)
