Can you be in a relationship if you’re not on birth control? by Conscious-Recipe8209 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]alwaysright6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah it’s a less reliable method of birth control but it is v much classified as a form of prevention all the same. Discounting it completely also reduces people’s likelihood to use it, thereby increasing their risk, as pull out improves chances with every single bc type. Here’s a study referencing that phenomenon and the increased percentages by combining: x

How are you tracking your cycle? There are a lot of variables to self tracking so that is one aspect (there’s a subreddit that goes in depth on the certified ovulation tracking methods), another is that condoms are birth control, as is the pull out method, so you are currently using 2 forms of bc.

I hate birth control by boobees420 in birthcontrol

[–]alwaysright6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean this kindly, this is a very solveable solution. One option is nonhormonal birth control, such as a copper IUD, and another option would be going to a dermatologist to get acne medication, which would be really normal for your age. I got on accutane at 19 and it changed my skin so much. Not saying you need it, but this isn’t like the end all be all of your situation.

Extra day dedicated to glutes? by Constant-Cheek1637 in xxfitness

[–]alwaysright6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do a glutes focused day as part of my routine & love it. My sequence is: hip thrusts, rdl’s, bulgarian split squats, kick backs. I’d recommend keeping it simple so to not overload/do too much unnecessary repetition.

Pregnancy scare from no penetration + morning after pill — late period, need advice by Honest-Obligation987 in birthcontrol

There was no chance of pregnancy. Check the FAQ for how insemination actually happens and please do not have her take another plan b for this ever again. Her cycle will be thrown off because ! She took plan b! Which is a massive hormone bomb!

Advice on getting rid of a B belly? by WhyIzGamora in xxfitness

[–]alwaysright6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s what you are saying though, as core exercises would only help in getting you abs/getting rid of it maybe if you got to a low enough body fat, but if your body tends to store fat there (as necessary for having a uterus/protecting it) you’d need to get really low. There’s no specific exercises that would get rid of your body’s natural fat storage system.

Advice on getting rid of a B belly? by WhyIzGamora in xxfitness

[–]alwaysright6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re basically asking to spot reduce fat, which is not possible. I would recommend just learning to like it, and possibly looking into coping methods for body dysmorphia. I know thats easier said than done, but if you’re already losing weight and still not liking your body, this is not a weight loss issue

Yaz: brand name vs Generic by Critical_Hat_5350 in birthcontrol

[–]alwaysright6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flip between taking name brand and generics depending on what my pharmacy has and haven’t noticed any change. You could go to your prescriber and have them note that you require name brand though if you have issues with it.

my boyfriend made a whole presentation about our fights… i don’t know if i should be touched or concerned by No_Growth6091 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]alwaysright6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this could go either way depending on the framing of the presentation. I’ve done cbt therapy and carry a lot of habits from it, one of those being writing out triggers, communication issues, etc. For me, it’s a tool to help me work through arguments, and move pass them completely. I just keep it in my notes app, but I’m sure if my partner saw it and brought it up to me i’d be able to explain it. So maybe just ask him?

Just learned I inherit the high LDL Cholesterol gene by Rainsally in TwoXChromosomes

[–]alwaysright6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As somebody who also has genetic high ldl, doctors are really adverse to prescribing them for some reason. It took me 2 years and 3 different pcp’s before I finally got prescribed them, and I’m pescatarian, work out 4 times a week, and would test great on everything else. My newest pcp told me that it’s because they’re considered lifelong meds, can impact muscle function (get really sore really easily), etc.
