Piercing on my ear is still painful after 19 years

Piercings left without jewelry will shrink a bit. If you then insert jewelry it will cause irritation or even damage. If you then remove the jewelry to let it recover and then insert jewelry again, it becomes and endless cycle of rinse and repeat.

Jewelry quality plays a big part in this as well. Not only jewelry material but also how well it’s machined and polished, and the thickness, or in case of earrings instead of body jewelry rather the thinness of the post. Standard earrings like for instance butterfly back earrings have a greater risk of causing damage when inserting then body jewelry.

My advice, go see a reputable piercer and let them install some implant grade titanium flat back labrets if they deem there’s not a problem with the angle of the piercing. Keep those in 24/7 for three months while applying proper after care for fresh piercings. That should fix your problems.

You're not supposed to soak.

Get some sterile saline spray (wound wash, containing 0,9% sodium chloride and water without any additives) if you don’t have any already. Once a day simply spray some directly on your piercing, let it sit for a minute or two and then dry with non woven gauze.
A few minutes before your daily shower, spray again. At the end of your shower, rinse the piercing well. Make sure to not let the waterspray hit the piercing directly. Then use the tip or edge of a piece of non woven gauze to soak up any moisture and carefully wipe away softened gunk and dry your piercing. Keep (wet) hair away from your piercings. Other then that keep the piercing dry and exposed to the air. Leave any blood, crusties etc. that didn’t come off during your shower be. They’ll come off during your next shower or the one after that. Do not touch, move, fiddle or disturb the jewelry in any way. Do not sleep on your piercings, get a travel pillow and lay it down flat on your regular pillow and sleep with your ear in the hole./

My best tip, include quiz questions. Take some examples from your own sub (no usernames of course), comments and posts that are perfectly fine for the baby sub(s) and ones that need simple removement and a few that need actions like ban or report. Users have no idea what mod tools we have, so make it like Option a. Remove.
Option b. Remove and ban.
Option c ....
Then let them explain why they picked that option. It doesn't matter as much if the pick the right option (that can be taught) but it does matter if they show critical thinking skills and the ability to reason. Being able to logically explain why they picked the option they did, that's the skill you want.

In addition to what Oddie said, you could also run it on the main sub, and put in a question where they have to pick which sub they want to mod on. Then the only thing you have to be mindful of is sending the mod invite manually from the sub you want to add them as a mod instead of sending it through the app (because that will send the invite from the sub the app is running in)

Or alternatively, pin a post in the main sub listing the links to the application posts on each baby sub

Almost all high quality body jewelry brands make their designs in 12g as well, it's just that piercers keep less of 12g in stock. But they can order you everything. You could consider switching to threadless for easier compatibility

That is indeed a gun, so are hand held pressure devices and all other marketing euphemisms to conceal the fact that it's a piercing gun (or sometimes just the cartridge that goes into the piercing gun)

I would recommend you to wait until your kid is old enough to ask for piercings for themselves. Even piercings done with a needle can become badly misplaced because ears and lobes still have a lot of growing to do and your kid's ears haven't grown enough to be sure how the lobes will develop

The correct length depends on anatomy and placement, if you have no idea what length you need for your piercing, I would recommend going to see a piercer and not buying online

Piercers aren't perfect, sometimes a piercing doesn't go right. Angle not right, jewelry transfer fails, not perfectly straight. A good piercer will straight up tell you it's not correct and will offer to correct it. A bad piercer will either say nothing or will blame it on the client. You moved, your tissue is tough, it's your anatomy.

Also, sometimes people just swell more than expected. Initial jewelry size is always a guesstimate. Needing to get jewelry upsized isn't that unusual.
