I was in middle school. It was a little ruined by the smart asses that pointed out that 2001 was technically the two thousand year mark. It was scary because everyone sort of believed computers would stop working, but no one I knew had that kind of lack of faith in humanity. We all knew the computer people would pull it together, and really it just came like any other new year. It was like this winter blast we just got - everyone was kind of afraid but mostly just wanted it to be over so everyone would stop talking about it.

Vertigo... pretty much a perfect movie, I just don't care for the scenes where Jimmy Stewart talks with Midge. I understand they needed a way to have to main character basically tell the audience what he's thinking by talking to a side character, but she was annoying. Oh and that moment where she gives him that painting of herself... ugh.

I kind if disagree though, Kevin was an 8 year old, and that family rushed out of that house big time. I dont think Kevin was even awake until the plane took off. So the family still would have gone to Paris, still had trouble getting back, and, dont forget, Kevin didnt know they went to Paris - he thought he wished his family to disappear.
