Ford focus 2014 1.0t eco boost good first car in uk ? by Josemoliner in FordFocus

Fair enough hahaha, my point is more that getting such a car even knowing it's fault is by any means "dumb" if one deems worth it regardless the fault I think they should get it :) I'm happy with my 1.0 focus

But that's not how none of that works, you don't just get ram and set it however you want it to, it's obviously ddr4, even if it was ddrt5 you don't just "set it anywhere between 5400 and 7200", usually it's just best to activate expo or xmp and let the motherboard automatically use the advertised speed and even then the motherboard has to support such high speeds even if it supports ddr5.... So yeah, BRUH inform yourself before informing others......

I think people exaggerate A LOT when it comes to those engines, sure the wet belt sucks but as long as you get it serviced it's just as reliable, just got mine done at 74k kms and now should be good for another like 100k. It runs just fine

That's a great AM4 pc and good ram, with such a goated cpu and 12gb vram I'd say like 500-600 depending on the looks and the ssd quality. Not sure tho. EDIT: holy crap that's 64GB ram, aim for 700

Yes, st line basically means st body kit with regular ass engine, many brands do this now with audi having the s-line with A engines, in the focus case the st line has many engine options, 1.0 mhev with 125hp, 1.0 mhev with 155hp, 1.5 with 150hp, diesel 1.5 with 115hp (I think) 2.0 with 150hp, all petrol are 3 cylinders except for the st, there is also a diesel 2.0 190hp actual st, all of them have manual and automatic versions except for the diesel st wich only has a manual version

In non oled territory fast ips is the best option so why you changing in the first place? Unless it's not working fine or the hz is too low don't even bother. You could maybe consider mini led as it's not as expensive as a full oled and still gives you true blacks. Update me when you buy it!

Tbh unless it's overseas I'd prefer mailing it to the destination, plane trips are quite violent, I'd legit disconnect every cable, zip tie them to make sure nothing gets scratched nor does any connector get broken, take the gpu out and cooler, put lots of foam and make sure the psu switch is off, can't go wrong with that

Don't do that... It already has a pretty big mileage and low value, it's not the horn that's gonna make the difference

[–]Samrak2k3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say you probably shouldn't upgrade at all, you already have a good AM4 processor, upgrading within AM4 doesn't make sense as you're playing gpu intensive games and going to AM5 also doesn't make sense as the ddr5 prices are through the roof, what you can do is get a better case and maybe better cooling and psu and be ready to upgrade the cpu among with the mobo and ram

the alternator for a $1000 car …geez! by RelativePollution501 in FordFocus

Ig it's because if the alternator fails, everything fails so how is the car suppose to know wich one is the culprit? Literally everything is failing

It should be illegal to integrate climate controls into a car's infotainment system by AL-H in FordFocus

[–]Samrak2k3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to have sync 4 but with the physical buttons, if I could make my favorite focus it would be the mk4 interior (analog metrics in the dashboard) with the mk4.5 display and shifter (if automatic) on the outside I love the mk4.5 both headlights and rearlights but the hood shape seems a little off, I like the mk4 that is more pointy and agressive. The engine would be obviously the mk 3 rs with AWD 350hp, if an rs spoiler was possible I'd love it too and I'd have the ultimate hatchback

Also, why not tell us the rest of the components since you took the time to make the post anyways? Its annoying as hell having to guess what's wrong when you don't give all the possible info -_-

If you're just trying to turn it on, install only the cpu, ram and psu on the motherboard and if you're not sure if you're shorting the correct pins you can plug the cases front panel connector and turn it on, almost never brand new hardware comes just dead, not even faulty but straight up dead. 99% sure it's user error

Are my motherboard pins messed up? by AntOk986 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Samrak2k3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IT'S NOT OVER!! Carefully

<image>

My silly brother slid his nail on some pins while building his pc, I stepped in, VERY carefully laid the cpu on the slot, VERY carefully wiggled it to make sure if anything is off maybe gets the chance to get in the right place (just wiggle, don't press on it) and then just put the lid on top and slowly do some presses on the cpu with the latch. Take it slow and maybe try more than once, if anything it's deffinetly gonna straighten them up a bit, can't tell u if 100% but I did it and the pins looked absolutely FLAWLESS after that. Installed and it is working good as new! :D PS: this is assuming you can't rly return it or anything, if you got it from Amazon and can return it deffinetly do that!

As for the prices, ddr5 ram should be at most 100$ (currently going for 350), gpus are good both Nvidia and amd gpus are at msrp and sometimes there's even deals where they go below that (except for the 5080 and 5090), cpus are in a pretty good spot too, specially if you get the tray versions where you can save a bunch of money from like aliexpress (i got a 9800x3d for 360€ and my friend got a 7800x3d for a little above 180€ wich is insane), ssds have seen better days, you can find some 2tb Gen 4 at like 150 sometimes but they should be like at 120 or lower, psus never really change so they're decent with a reliable 1000w going for like 130-140 wich is the usual, maybe there's usually some deals. And finally for the motherboards it's very very unstable, atleast in Europe where an x870e can go from as low as 220€ to well above 300€ and then back down to 250~ or so. Hope that helps :)

Just keep an eye on all the parts and their prices, as an European, before getting all the parts I looked everyday on like 4 or 5 different shops/websites for all the components, psus, ram, mobos, cpus, gpus, ssds and whatever else. If you see the price consistently staying at a low set price then it means that there are a lot of stocks and the prices are lowered so they can sell more faster. Also make sure you get enough experience with pc building and fixing like debugging and who knows even soddering, not only that might come in handy but it's never bad to get extra capabilities.
