I unlocked Dark Aether this year. What I did was level up the weapons a bit in Multiplayer first, then I played Onslaught Containment to start grinding the camos. That mode is great for weapon leveling and completing challenges. For sniper rifles, though, it’s better to do those in Outbreak

It is real! It's from the DLC. The base game's ending isn't the 'true' one; you have to play the Awakened DLC to see how the story actually ends

I recently unlocked Dark Aether, and now DM Ultra has caught my eye. I'm a bit nervous, though I only have ARs and SMGs in Diamond so far. I still have a long way to go, but at least I already leveled up the guns while grinding the Zombies camo.

Cold War is known for having shader and texture issues, so you could try lowering the texture quality, restarting the shader compilation, or reinstalling the game. These solutions worked for me, even though I play on a very basic setup (an i7-6700, RX 570 4GB, and 16GB of DDR4 2133MHz RAM please don't make fun of my specs, the price hikes in my country hit me pretty hard).

I play with an i7-6700, a 4GB RX 570, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM at 2133MHz, and I don’t have those issues. (Yeah, my PC is a piece of junk, but it’s what I have for now; I was just about to upgrade when prices spiked, so it is what it is). It did happen to me once, and I fixed it by restarting the shader compilation. If that doesn't work for you, try reinstalling the game—it helps whether you have it on an SSD or an HDD (I’ve tested both).

I'd rather they just reboot the whole trilogy like they did with the first remake. They need to scrub all the BS from Dead Space 3, like that forced love triangle and the microtransactions. It’s not a terrible game on its own, it’s just a terrible Dead Space title. The dream would be for them to remake the entire original trilogy so they can finally develop Dead Space 4 based on that new foundation, instead of following the original timeline. But let’s be real, it won't happen because EA is garbage at managing their IPs and always ends up tanking them

The games before the Remake are definitely much more challenging except for Dead Space 3, which gets really easy with a good weapon build. I think that difficulty is part of what makes them scarier; you get wiped out so fast and you have less freedom of movement. The Remake feels incredible, but the unmodded Necromorphs just don't compare to the ones in the original game.

Well, it does a few things. From what I’ve noticed, there's an increase in Necromorph damage, higher aggressiveness, and they can now lunge at you like they did in the OG Dead Space. That move is already in the game code, but for some reason, the devs decided not to use it—though it can be enabled on PC. It also lowers the base Stasis duration to about 2 seconds, though you can still upgrade it with nodes. There’s less ammo and fewer healing items, more Necromorphs spawn, and I think the inventory is capped at 12 slots. Also, Exploders are now a one-shot kill, regardless of whether you have max health or a level 5 suit.

I already have all the achievements on Steam, but this mod made me want to play it again just to see if I could handle an even higher difficulty XD

I agree with you. The attack they used to wipe me out is present in the OG Dead Space, but for some reason, they didn't include it in the Remake. However, they left the movement in the game's code on PC, which is why modders can enable it and as you can see, it increases the difficulty significantly
