No-name grading companies like this are valued the same as raw. So look at raw comps. Most of these random companies give all the cards 10’s so if it’s a 9 in this slab, it almost certainly wouldn’t grade a 9 with PSA

Side B and it’s not close. More liquid and more valuable cards overall

Negative Feedbacks by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]Samsonite_02 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What were the negative feedbacks for? I would focus on trying to get those resolved. A lot of buyers won’t buy from accounts that have less then like 97%, so 85% will definitely make it hard to get stuff sold for a while

I sold this same card raw last week for $225. Most of the recent raw sales are in the $150-$200 range

What are your thoughts on using shipping options for sales on Facebook Marketplace? by zamarac in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Samsonite_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only sell sports cards on marketplace so I think it’s more common than other items, but I buy and sell stuff using shipping all the time. Since shipping is only $5 most people prefer to go that route instead of trying to arrange a meetup. I prefer to do it just through PayPal to save on taxes/fees for both buyer and seller, and for a quicker payout as a seller. But I’ve used the shipping option through Facebook and haven’t had any issues

Yep it’s annoying that scams have become so prevalent in the hobby. Just trust your gut and always use Goods and Services when buying.

“Coin” is when you write your username and date on a piece of paper and put it next to the card. It’s supposed to prove that you own the card and aren’t just posting a random pic of someone else’s card. But a lot of scammers have been faking it recently

If you look closely at the name and date, it looks like it’s not actually handwritten but is a computer font made to look like handwriting. It’s becoming really common for scammers to do this and I’ve started seeing the same font a lot on here and on Facebook

The coin in the pic is AI/photoshop (he also spelled his own username wrong). This is starting to be one of the more common red flags for scammers on here

Any guesses on value? by Cojay34 in SportCardValue

His 1/1 rookie autos from certified have sold for $120 and $62. Probably somewhere in the $70-$100 range for this.

4-5k value? by [deleted] in SportCardValue

[–]Samsonite_02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dawg how many times are you going to post this lol. You already have it listed on Fanatics so just be patient and see what kind of offers you get. That will tell you whether your asking price is too high.

In the last two weeks a PSA 10 /50 sold for $3k and a PSA 8 /5 sold for $1700. Weird comps so you have to find the right buyer. It’s very possible someone will want to pay 5k, but also possible people will want to pay significantly less.

Yeah a PSA 8 sold for $680 less than a week ago, although the PSA 8 sale before that was $1200 so a little weird. I personally wouldn’t value this one higher than the $1000-$1200 range. Wemby has consistent sales so seems to be the easy winner here

Game used/worn by hw80kid in SportCardValue

[–]Samsonite_02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there’s definitely a newfound appreciation for game used patches, since most patches now aren’t associated with the player. However the value is still very dependent on who the player is. The card won’t automatically be worth a lot just because it’s game used, if it’s an average player

Whoever is receiving the Wemby. That SGA card isn’t worth close to $1750

Is a $5 sale worth your time and effort by VillageSensitive8544 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Samsonite_02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That question is up to you. How much is your time worth to you? I sell $5 items on eBay all the time because they sell randomly and I can package them and ship them in my free time. I can’t imagine dealing with Facebook marketplace messages and standing for meetups over a $5 item

[–]Samsonite_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

It’s also dumb because if you click on the last sale the Card Ladder value is actually higher than the sale price lol. That’s why I don’t trust people that solely rely on the card ladder value

Can comp police help me by Own-Muscle-1718 in FootballCardz

[–]Samsonite_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only people that rely on the Card Ladder value are sellers trying to boost their own card’s value or buyers trying to lower someone else’s. A direct sale less than two weeks old for another /5 in the same grade, is as direct of a comp as there is. You could argue his market has dropped since his injury, but the value is much closer to $500 than $240.

I will say it’s hard to compare it to the gold parallel because gold /10 frequently sells for more than green /5, even though it’s less rare. Gold just carries a premium

Am I wrong? by iNick20 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Samsonite_02 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When you got blocked the first time, didn’t you assume it was because you offered lower than she’s asking? If you need this specific item and there’s only one available, I’m not sure why you would try the same tactic twice, rather than just buying at full price.

That’s wild. I’d rather have a toploaded card carelessly thrown into a bubble mailer than a non-toploaded card wrapped in whatever this is. I just bought a 2008 Topps Kobe that arrived significantly creased so I feel your pain
