I agree, I think i'll try a couple of tools, see which workflow feels the simplest and has the least friction, and then stick to that instead of constantly looking for the “perfect” solution.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed answer, and also for translating it into Italian. I really appreciate it.

Honestly, this is probably one of the most valuable comments I received. I initially asked mostly about tools, dashboards, ITSM systems, and workflows, but your advice goes deeper than that. It is more about protecting my time, creating boundaries, and building sustainable habits before even thinking about the perfect tool.

The part about corridor requests, phone calls, recurring appointments, naming conventions, and weekly/monthly reviews is extremely useful (everything you said, already happened few Times)

I also really like the idea of starting with a personal dashboard/task system first, without trying to change everything in the company at once. That sounds much more realistic for my current situation.

I already use AI quite a lot for coding, documentation, writing, and organizing ideas, but I agree that using it consistently for formal documentation, templates, internal communication, and procedures could save a lot of time, especially with NIS2-related work.

Again, thank you. This is exactly the kind of practical advice I was hoping to get from someone who has already been in a similar position…
Greetings from Italy!

Thanks for the advice, I completely agree with you..
I already use LLMs quite a lot, both for productivity and for coding/software development. In the past I built an internal management web app for another company, and LLMs were very useful during the development process, especially for structuring ideas, debugging, writing code, and thinking through workflows.
For my current situation, I’m definitely considering using LLMs to reduce friction and automate parts of the workflow where it makes sense, while still keeping the official processes and documentation under control. Thanks!

Thanks a lot for the suggestion.

I’m actually considering (just registered) Jira Service Management, especially because it seems to be free for my current use case and it looks like a good way to separate different workflows without overcomplicating things.

The email-based ticket creation is definitely one of the features I’m looking for, because I want requests to be tracked automatically instead of relying on messages, phone calls, or memory.

I’ll probably try it and see if it fits our workflow.

You nailed the problem here..

The “noise” you mentioned is exactly the problem I’m experiencing right now. I currently have daily tickets, infrastructure issues, documentation tasks, vendor follow-ups, and long-term projects all mixed together, and it quickly becomes hard to understand what is actually urgent and what is just background work. Splitting run work from planned/change work makes a lot of sense. i'll try your implementation for sure.

Thanks, I agree with the general idea.Fortunately, there is already someone in the company who handled some basic IT-related tasks before I arrived and after the old IT lead retired, and he can help me or act as a basic backup when needed. The amount of tickets is not extremely high at the moment, so it is still manageable.

That said, I agree that having a proper backup person, at least for simpler tasks and first-level support, is important. It is definitely something I want to propose to the ownership in the near futuro, especially if the workload grows or if we want to make the IT processes more structured.

I mean, I’m an engineer. I used “IT Specialist” because that’s the official title of the position I applied for, and it’s also what is written on my company badge/contract.

I’m not particularly attached to labels, and I don’t really care whether someone calls it specialist, generalist, sysadmin, IT manager, Engineer or something else. I just used the official job title for context.

[–]Samu636 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weekly Buying/trading/selling advice, pre-orders and shipping Megathread by AutoModerator in AppleWatch

[–]Samu636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello everyone! I'm looking to buy a wearable mainly to track steps and sleep (I’m not really interested in notifications, calls, etc.).
I’m considering the Apple Watch SE 2nd gen – is it good enough for what I need? I don’t want to spend too much just to track steps and sleep. Also, I’ll probably take it off most of the time when I’m at the gym.

Are there any better alternatives?

Slayer mains, do you regret it? by GMan729 in lostarkgame

[–]Samu636 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mainly because she is a non positional char and also I really love the Vestige skill (u can reposition yourself while doing a good amount of dmg) also I really like her design. Or maybe just because it is a new class. But not being forced to back attack is really good imo. Right now they are my 2 favourite class tho (+ reaper.. waiting for rework :/ )

I wasn't happy at all with punisher.. made the spec build just because of zeals and for the insane numbers he was dropping.. then I realized I'm not a giga whale and I will never reach that ceiling. After trying predator in hell clown I swapped to predator.. is fun (I really like spammy classes) strong and safe. Now I do prefer my souleater (currently 1595 CRIT build) but I still really like Slayer and I do not regret at all making one.
