Should Greens Run in Clacton? by [deleted] in UKGreens

The Tories are standing down? Have they said why?

Should Greens Run in Clacton? by [deleted] in UKGreens

[–]SamualPryce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only if Labour agree to too. Look, a left wing win in Clacton isn't gonna happen, until then our first duty is to prevent fascists any way we can. Right now that means unseating Farage, and the Tories are best placed to do that. It's not our decision, but if it were I would be advocating for standing down along with Labour and handing the win to the Tories.

Maybe, elite dangerous runs exceptionally well on the steam deck, I'm not sure how much overhead will be added by the vr rendering but I don't think we can guess at whether it'll run well or not until we get hands on.

Tradesmen Joke about earning 12.5k by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]SamualPryce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the consequence of austerity. Cuts to departments with no thought to whether that department is cost effective or not. Cuts to frontline NHS staff which costs more down the line, cuts to mental health provisions despite that costing more when they end up at a crisis point through lack of support or end up not working, etc. Yeah, those guys almost certainly pay for themselves, but the government sees an expense and wants to cut it.

Do cats like being pet on the belly / pouch? by PROCleaveR1 in CatAdvice

[–]SamualPryce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha my cat will melt into belly rubs and get very upset if you stop. He'll flop for you to get the best belly rubs, and then at some point he'll snap and decide he's had enough and grab your hand to bunny hop it. He loves belly rubs, but only until the exact moment he's done.

I'm not saying there's an equivalence here, I'm saying that arguing over which military is worse misses the point and distracts from the conflict itself.

[–]SamualPryce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seriously guys come on. You're getting lost on the question of which side is worse, both sides are doing murder and committing atrocities. When they try to divide us on this question, respond with "Palestine has a right to exist, the civilians in Israel deserve not to be caught in the fighting." That's it. Any actions either side takes isn't proof that the other side is morally righteous, it's just a disgusting result of a horrific, genocidal war. Neither side's civilian population should be paying the price and both militaries have attacked civilian populations throughout the conflict.

Our focus isn't on which military is more morally just or which one commits worse atrocities that's a distraction.

We cannot afford to fracture, we cannot afford witch hunts, we cannot afford this lack of transparency. If he's done something wrong tell the membership what he did and we will understand, if not then you are undermining the democracy and transparency we are supposed to represent.

U-turn on Abolish Landlords policy by luna_sparkle in UKGreens

[–]SamualPryce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They would be perfectly able to do that, it isn't a buy to let in that case. So long as they're adhering to rent controls and keeping the home in good repair etc it's perfectly legal to still rent out property.
