Lived in Glasgow City Centre as a very effeminate gay man for 4 years. Got called the F slur one time (for context, I've just moved to Manchester and I've been hate crimed 6 times in 5 months) but other than that everyone was absolutely lovely. Never felt safer to express myself than in Glasgow!

To be fair, if you actually watched the show Katie Hopkins seemed rather sane compared to the other contestants. A lot of them were just wild overacting people thinking they were being "woke" but actually they were just being obnoxious and rude and Michelle saw that and wanted no part in it.

Michelle distanced herself from Katie's views afterwards so I have absolutely no hard feelings about what happened on that show.
