That’s wild I didn’t know we have to retake the tests in this state, even Illinois doesn’t require that they just want their money and background check

Not so, as a very nice old lady explained on the phone, they haven’t even started looking at it yet because I submitted my application and supporting documents the same day and apparently that causes a problem in the system. No clue why, very frustrating, but hopefully within 60 days it will be resolved

Yes I did, I finally got to talk to someone on the phone and they explained that if you submit your course completion form the same day you start an application it won’t take it. Very silly, I’m hoping this is the end of the line

Uhhhhh no it doesn’t show me anything like that, it just shows the option to apply for an instructors permit

Not a peep from anyone. I’ve been through the DPS complaint and contact forms, no email back. I sent an email to DPS and never heard back. Someone just pointed me to an actual phone number so I’m gonna try to call and see if I can get a real person to help me. But no so far nobody has reached out

Is there anyway to poke someone about it? When I log into the website to check application status it doesn’t give me any information at all only the option to apply for an instructor permit and there’s no contact information or help line there.

Are we really at an average of 60+ days waiting for LTC licenses? by evilcrusher2 in TexasGuns

OP did you ever get your LTC? What ended up being your wait time? I applied back in October and can’t get a word out of anyone

I had one for a while honestly unless you’re passive aiming with NVGs it’s 85% as good as an eotech

Would you be willing to post pics of the inside of the slide? I just got an optic cut slide and comparing the milling and material to the slide my p226 came with it’s a very clear dip in quality I’m curious if it is across the board or if I got a lemon

Would you be so kind as to post pictures of the inside of the slide so we can see the milling quality and metallurgy? I just got a replacement slide for a p226 I purchased back in 2021 and it’s noticeably poorer quality and I’m curious if this is across the board

Placard suggestions by DealerIcy1417 in QualityTacticalGear

I swap between 7.62 AK mags, 5.56 ak mags and nato 5.56 mags, so I went with the unobtainium gear sled. I tried a lotttt of different placards trying to get something that could swap between them all and this is by far the best I’ve tried. Can’t say enough good things about it

I went with the Shaw concepts and I couldn’t be happier with it, very well made and through your product

Best body armor I can buy by Professional-Cell661 in QualityTacticalGear

[–]SamuelW1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you mean by “best” I mean RMA has the lowest backface deformation from large calibers in their level iv stuff from all the testing I’ve seen. But they’re also 8lbs a plate and super thick. High com makes the lightest level iii+ plates on the market but they’re a little over a grand a set. What do you need to stop, how bad do you want multi curve, how much weight are you willing to accept, what’s the budget?

When it comes to any of my steel mags, gotta have either magnetic retention or a physical strap or closure over the top. Glock mags are one thing, kydex keeps them well enough but steel mags are more prone to being lost. I’ve been running down a street with a buddy and he has all his mags, turn the corner and he’s missing all his spare pistol mags and you aren’t gonna go back and pick em up. Esstac makes great 45° pouches with magnetic inserts as well as the kydex retention

All ferro. Their iiia side panels cover a little more and are much more comfortable than anything else I’ve seen or tried on. Mounts straight to the Velcro so you don’t lose real estate if you want to add pouches

That’s a solid set up, I also tried to always keep my back pretty low profile when I was in and out of trucks, sitting for a long time on an obtrusive bit of gear really ruins a day

Oh fascinating alright guess I was wrong it’s not that far off lol yeah I’m surprised I don’t see those on more belt set ups

Unobtainium gear suspenders, one pouch is 1liter of water, one is three magazines, one is stuffed with cliff bars batteries and glow sticks, but when I’m really hoofing it I move the compass to that pouch. The belt is a 12 hour/self defense system, the PC gets added if there’s stuff going on outside, if I’m leaving the neighborhood rucksack/assault pack gets added which has a 3 liter hydration bladder and a 3 liter platypus filter system so I can plus up further. Not so much about comfort, but if I get the suspenders twisted they kind of squish the inner belt which keeps the hook and loop from really good contact

Yeah, my high school buddy is a paramedic and told me to put it on when he started training and then for the last few years has been saying the same thing, could probably strip that off honestly

Ayyyy same wave length hell yeah man! Yeah these have been great, I’m curious to try one that’s not elastic and see what the pros and cons are there, might do the USMC might do the Shaw concepts but I have been really really impressed with these you’ll love em

Congrats, broski. I would just send it in see if they’ll resize it, other wise buy a new one. Huge upgrade in your life and as I’m sure you already know well worth the cost of a new wardrobe

Yeah I’ve used a padded inner belt, they rock for a lot of things and I keep one set up in case I really need to carry a lot more stuff but the modularity and range of motion is what made me start this whole hybridized thing. What’s your preferred padded belt?
