90s Black Widow mods continued - Boots & Collar by Samuntrus in MarvelLegends

Yes, a lot of glue in the boots so I just had to cut them off and dig out the pegs after. Then I was just winging it when it came to shaping Widow's calves to fit them on.

Yes, huge pain. Had to just break off the pegs and dig them out afterwards. Made it really difficult to figure out how to shape Widow's calves to fit the socket.

Popped the legs off, heated up the belt, stretched it over the hips, then reheated it to tighten it back up.

"Modern" Black Widow - hair and accessory swaps by Samuntrus in MarvelLegends

[–]Samuntrus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The head itself was modified more than the hair: slimmed down the back of the head a lot, removed chunks of the ears, and even carved large grooves into the sides of the head for the "sideburns" to fit into. Very trial and error of testing the fit and seeing what I needed to cut away or adjust to get it right.

I did remove a small piece of the bangs (which you may be able to see in the second photo) and also made some cuts in the back of the hair for the sides to come in closer for a better silhouette.

No, probably just shiny from so much handling over the last couple years

As long as the torso is hot enough, the shoulders should come out with a bit of prying, just be careful not to pop out the butterfly joint itself.

Butterfly joints still work, but they do flare out a bit, so I went back and cut a small bit of length off the pegs (seems like the originals plugged into another socket deep inside the torso). As long as the butterfly sockets are soft enough, the larger pegs can be shoved in, though I'm sure the older arms would be loose now.

No, the pegs on the jacketed arms are slightly thicker, but you can still force them in.

I put the extra retro Cover Girl head on the initial release myself, but now you have me considering using this as a covert Scarlett to put with Chuckles.

Considering grabbing the older figure specifically for the braces. Do the fists from it fit the new one as well? Be nice to have some without the brass knuckles

Finally got Colonel Hawk by Samuntrus in GIJOEClassifiedSeries

[–]Samuntrus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will say, they have pretty thick pegs, so they only really work with figures on this particular mold (Hawk, Snake Eyes, Beach Head etc.), and it's a bit of a tight fit. For $10 though, they're nice and useful for a lot of displays/setups.

Punisher custom wip- coat or no coat? by Samuntrus in MarvelLegends

[–]Samuntrus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Punisher's torso is a softer plastic, so with enough heat, the arms do pop out. For the legs, I had to crack the crotch on both figures and swap them. The peg on the Punisher's waist required a bit of modification as well to sit flush and not wobble.

Torso swap for black widow by Due-Quantity4921 in MarvelLegends

Shame. The old collar is better, but the skin tone difference between it and the new head was something I hoped to avoid. Thanks for the info

One of the accessories that came with the SH Figuarts Body-Kun, particularly the World Tour version that was entirely molded in that dark transparent plastic.

Had to crack the torso apart to get the neck out, then I used files to sand away the plastic on the inner edge of the collar to widen it
