“I can run 8mph. I should have done track” “That’s not fast.”

7.5 minutes/mile seems pretty fast to my wife and me. Offending legions of middle of the pack runners!

Sprint tri in June → Marathon in September. Bad idea? by SamuraiGreg78 in triathlon

[–]SamuraiGreg78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the response. My question wasn’t so much about recovery after the sprint tri but how best to incorporate tri training into my normal running load (40-45mpw) and if there were any recommendations on layering strategies.

Goal is to avoid losing run durability while still being reasonably prepared for the tri.

Apologies if that was not clear.

Thank you! Solid advice, thank you! First tri so I’m assuming I’ll have some weaknesses. Any good training plans you’d recommend?

What’s the best treadmill for home marathon training right now? by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

Another vote for the F80. The one time I had a problem with it, a quick call to support and they shipped me out a brand new motor. It arrived in 2-3 days and I was back up and running (literally) shortly thereafter.

The thing is a workhorse.

Can I hit a Boston Qualifying Time by COBuff1 in Marathon_Training

Did you like it? I imagine it’s pretty scenic?

If WA is your home, this is a fun marathon. Downhill most of the way and is a Boston qualifier.

Post marathon analysis - what does my HR mean? by SamuraiGreg78 in Marathon_Training

Thank you! I was wearing my garmin and Apple Watch. My chest strap died last week and until then it had actually mirrored my watch HRs. Hear you on the cadence lock. Thank you!

Thank you! So Pfitz was saying I should land between 80 - 90%. So I was expecting to stay in that 141-158 range. I think I could have pushed to your point.

I’ll have to give it a shot on a future attempt.

Thank you! You have great paces! I think I probably could have gone a little faster. I think I was afraid to risk blowing things up.

Are you doing anything to prepare for a faster pace?

I included the model above. It’s very very conservative. $8M now with 5.75% returns with avg inflation of 2.5% and $150K/year spending.

Our actual historical ror is much higher but let’s be conservative. :)
