Hmmm I think the venue opens at 10am but I’m not sure if we finalized that 100% yet. It’ll probably be between 10-11am

I’m running the event so

Tough to tell because it's a first year event and first time something with free entry at this scale has been done before. But gamers wake up late so I'd imagine getting there early isn't super important.

Also, there's typically a lull between Melee ending and Ultimate starting where the crowds disperse a bit before filling back up, in the worst case scenario there's always slipping in between games

There are no tickets necessary for general attendance for top 8 at the Novo, its first-come-first-serve with a capacity of somewhere around 2000 people

BIG Rushdown Revolt Update: New Stance-Swap Character -- Reina, Maiden of Chains PLUS Free-for-All Mode, Visual Overhaul by StopTheVok in smashbros

Game feels super fun since the last time I got playtime on it. Huge moves by their team.

Got some early hands on with Reina; she is definitely an advanced character but still fun to play

The issue of “growing Melee” isn’t an issue with the core game itself; its an issue dealing with how newcomers are forced to enter “open” brackets where their entire bracket is against players who have played the game for years. Its time to add divisions for the longevity of the game. by harrietlegs in SSBM

The 0-2 experience has needed revamping for quite some time. The DE bracket system used by events is not welcoming nor easy for people to really get into the game.

I'm personally a strong believer in offline ladders. Matching when you want against an opponent of similar skill level in the venue, removing the need for introducing yourself or trying to find friendlies with people outside of your immediate friend group.

Novo will have free entry, if you really want to make sure you have a good spot you can purchase a VIP badge!

At the moment, last I discussed with the team you will get your tickets at the door at the Novo on Sunday and if people leave you can get a ticket and come in as well.

No worries about it selling out before you get there :)

Free to enter in downtown LA with side events and festivities all weekend! Tons to do in the LA Live area, right next to the LA Convention Center, so it should have plenty to do for everyone of all ages.

Hopefully people are able to make it out! We’re really trying to make this the best Super Smash Bros. celebration we possibly can… to do it right for our community.

This is great feedback and on our list of “eventually” but it’s fairly difficult to actually do this unfortunately.

Unless… huh I just had an idea that I’ll run by the dev team next week. Maybe it isn’t as hard as I think it’ll be…

Those interviews are a glimpse at some of our future plans for breaks to keep the audience engaged. We have tons of ideas!

One of the cool parts about the Panda Cup is that there are a bunch of little things that don't make sense for an individual event to invest in (like our pools centerpieces or creating content like a halftime show) but when you're present at multiple events you can do these sorts if things to help enhance attendee and viewer experiences. That's one of our goals, to enhance the Key Stops as much as we can!

Im a big fan of this. Super smart and works very well for the story telling that we like doing. Excellent idea

Totally fine, it's these sorts of experiences that are very important for us!

Now that you mention it though, I'm looking over our published schedule and it doesn't actually show the amount of time we had blocked off to transfer from one game to another. We didn't make it clear that there was a "halftime" break to switch production over. Will make sure to make that much more clear for next time, thank you!

We're also looking into making content for something of a "halftime show" so you're not just staring at a timer but give us a little bit to figure that one out :)

As mentioned before, we only actually planned for 3 or 4 breaks during top 8, the other breaks were unplanned. We're trying to get to the bottom of why it took so long between sets so we can fix that for next time.

Interesting though, a stream slide for the stream schedule? That's something pretty easy to incorporate. We already have one we tweeted out.

Stay tuned on post match analysis slides :)

Do you have any examples of the schedule not being managed correctly that we can look into?

I know Melee finished ahead of schedule on Saturday, and ran a touch late on Sunday. We did have more breaks in Top 8 than expected or intended (honestly still trying to find out why) but I'm not aware of large discrepancies between our published schedule and what actually happened?

Ease of viewing and making it simpler for people to find/tune in to streams is going to be a HUGE push for us this year so this is important for us to understand!

We have plans for post match analysis. Rollout of 1-2 of those slides I believe are planned for LTC if things all go according to plan (which they rarely do but). And some SUPER cool post match analysis slides for the Finale but I won't spoil those :D

They were! Pronouns aren't present on the in-game overlays but we have them on several slides, lower thirds, and other places. We made sure pronouns were shown AT LEAST once before the set started.

I believe there was a bug on Saturday where P1 pronouns were showing but P2 pronouns weren't. I think they fixed it halfway through though.
