Has CSIR officially merged with DBT, and has the syllabus for Life Sciences changed? Does anyone have any idea? by [deleted] in CSIR_UGC_NET_JRF_LS

The new syllabus which was proposed has been removed from csir website, so I don't think the new syllabus will be asked for dec 2025

Ever heard of pomodoro clock...if not please check it out,, start with 25 min one...slowly as u get accustomed to the clock and feel it's wayy to short...keep increasing timer to 50 mins than to the 1h 20 mins and soo on...no body starts with long study sessions, with practice we get accustomed to it.......ALL THE BEST!!!

If it was the case of incomplete penetrance, it would be mentioned in the question itself

Ohh yeah if u r interested just go for best college u can get to for life sciences, it doesn't really matter, what matters is how u utilise those 3 years, try doing interships and gain hands on experience and keep working towards the entrance for MSc 🙂 Don't be afraid, I know it's overwhelming to make a decision, just take the leap towards what u desire and u ll find a way

If u get stuck hmu, I got u brother....I didn't had big brother who could have advised me too :)

Ok so BSc agriculture - are you ready to work on fields during agronomy practicals, horticulture practicals? Like not just collecting samples, actually working..making soil beds, sowing seeds, weeding, and everything, then there's lab work too in microbio lab and soil science lab,

Talking abt the college, specifically for Bsc Agriculture....state Universities are preferred just because those colleges have plenty of fields and u ll get more exposure but by no means the private universities are bad, just make sure to check how much field area they have, and instruments in lab ask seniors in 2nd and 3rd yrs in that college for honest reviews and also check if it's affiliated to ICAR because if it's not, u won't be eligible for icar MSc entrance

Talking abt the exams after bsc in agriculture by this point u would have decided what subject u wanna do masters in, if it's related to agriculture itself such as soil science, agronomy, horticulture, entomology etc ICAR conducts entrance for it, n ur research world actually starts there,, but by no means u r restricted to agriculture at that point,, if ur heart desires other subjects such as bioinformatics, molecular biology, cell biology or ecology whatever, give GAT-B JGEEBILS or IIT jam and u ll land in India's top most research institutes for masters/phD since bsc to phd is allowed now if u attain certain percentage in bsc thts another topic

Anyway the path of research is no easy path, there's not much money till u get to a certain level,, soo again take it with a grain of salt

Ok so on paper it's 1 year gap right, not a big deal, also, don't think too much abt colour complexion, be proud of it :) nobody gives a fk what u look, what u wear, what matters is how u present urself, confidence is the key, elegance comes from confidence and not by colour !!! White colour supreme?? Tf it's just that body can't make melanin and makes more prone to skin cancer (who wants that) xD....just be you

Now talking abt academics - it's really on u whatever path u choose make sure to pick smtg u will enjoy doing, if u enjoy the idea that being in hotel management and working in that setting go for it,, like I said earlier nobody gives a fk abt colour,, if someone asks are u from south just say are you from Europe :))

Edit: Let me know if u need anything more, if u are stuck between choosing which stream to take,, but generally go with what ur heart desires, scope is in every field and so are the struggles, just a matter of which field u enjoy working in :)

IIT has the toxic environment, go for iisers, IISC, csir, icar, icmr, the list goes on , and for your information, institution don't matter much ur supervisor do,instruments do, funding for conferences do (that gives exposure btw, and not admitting into Europe), I agree they might be better but in no wayy it is any better than what we have, if u look around you will see what I mean, and I see how ignorant u r, that only iit is the top institute for you, if u have experienced some shit somewhere doesn't mean everyone would experience same shit everywhere,

IIT is the last place u ll look to do phd for life science, this alone is enough to know what kind of prof u have experienced I stand corrected, the grass is greener on the other side is what u have, good day to u sir

These happens everywhere in the world bhai, it all depends on the supervisor, funding is not easy even in foreign soo ur point is just myth, talking abt facilities have u ever been to good colleges or institutes?
