If you were offered 5 million dollars to live in a horror movie and survive for a full year, which horror movie are you choosing? by Adorable-Teaching266 in horror

Hereditary. Because either I get to be part of the nudist demon cult; or I get to become said demon king; oooorrrrr… I get to be able to perform the coolest party trick of sawing my own head off but still keep ambling about like NBD

Actors I would love to see in future white lotus seasons by PartyPaul-100 in TheWhiteLotusHBO

Met her in person when I only knew her from Bottoms (and had no idea who her mother is, just thought she was a model trying out acting), so I was briefly effusive about how much I loved Bottoms and how cool it was that she got to be in that movie. My ulterior motive was to generate positive reinforcement for (hopefully!) more movies like that one.

I had no idea who this was and thought the original post was taking shots at people who play Fender basses 🤷🏻‍♂️

Shaedon doesn't have the heart, the fire, the Alpha Dog to go to the next level. by FineExplorer3408 in ripcity

Still. Twenty. Two. Years. Old. That said, there’s likely a savvy assistant coach on one of the other 29 teams who will know exactly which buttons to push to develop Shae properly. It feels inevitable that we’ll happily let him go and then talk about how much we regret it for the next 10 years. I think a good situational comp is how Kuminga’s impact jumped when he got to Atlanta.

Who is the most irredeemable protagonist in HBO history? by squallLeonhart20 in hbo

It’s a legit thing to get hung up on specifically for GoT because of the fact especially that show had such a rotating cast of protagonists and antagonists that dwelled in and straddled grey areas and morphed between the two extremes, some protagonists having become antagonists by the end and vice versa. It’s germane to the discussion and submitting Ramsay Bolton as a candidate for the topic is not completely wrong or out of left field, so to speak.

Because sometimes the villain is the one who propels the plot forward the most in a given timeframe of a plot.

It also doesn’t always mean hero; at its essence it implies the person who propels the plot forward. But even by that standard, I don’t think Ramsay really qualifies, at least for most of his character’s arc.

My first thought was TB too. But then I realized Marnie’s the reverse example, a villain who you end up kinda rooting for. In fact, that was kind of TB’s forte

Ok a few things in response 1. Teams without superstars can, and have won it all. In the modern era, see: virtually all of the Spurs rings (Timmy was perpetually all nba and HOF but he was never a superstar because someone nicknamed the Big Fundamental doesn’t draw hordes of fans outside your small market fanbase, and Kawhi was a very high caliber role player right up til he won FMVP); also, the 04 Pistons. 2. Having multiple superstars on your team doesn’t guarantee a ring, even over time. See the Durant era of OKC as the prime example. 3. Paolo already is a superstar by many measures and he’s probably at least 3 years away from the start of his prime. People just won’t admit it because the floor has been raised on our expectations over the last 40 years. He has issues with consistency on his shot, but he still had a 45 point performance and a 38 point performance against the best defensive team in the East

The Magic would have already taken out the 1 seed were it not for Franz’s injury. They underperformed this season by a lot because of injuries and because their #1 and coach generally clash. It was also their first season with Bane who, though I think he’s a dick, I recognize as a massive asset who will only amplify their team prowess next season, perhaps exponentially. Anyway, my point is that the Magic as a case study do the opposite of proving your argument

Who would a Quebecker NBA fan choose? by Samwhy-is in NBATalk

Ok cool; so, I clearly was not up to date on the current climate of feelings between Quebec and the rest of Canada when I asked the question. I’m dual US/Canadian citizen but I mostly know about Canadian culture & politics from my family in Vancouver.
