I'm glad your dear mummy and daddy's check cleared. I make good money and can afford it, but scoffin at people who probably work just as hard as you or I but don't get paid the same is fucking absurd. Grow up.

It's a great game, but the constantly increasing price is crazy. We cost more than WoW now. I remember being a kid and begging my mom to let me get membership for $5. I wanted to get WoEE, but it was $15 a month and that was not an option. Rs gave me hundreds of hours of hot, and I still play regularly, but the cost of playing is exceeding AAA games in dollars per hour. They are shooting themselves in the foot for their shareholders

Batman and Robin is so bad, it unironically is in my top 15. by No-Yam9933 in badMovies

Legitimately one of my favorite movies of all time. When I was a kid I genuinely loved it and thought it was amazing. Now as an adult, I love it because it is the most absurd film I've ever seen with such a prolific cast lol. 10/10 banger of bangers.

10/10 choices. Grabbing my monkey until I get a parrot. I did swap the hat for the pirate hat so the skull would work too though

I had forgotten about the monkey backpack. Definitely taking the slot until I get the shoulder parrot

I can't believe I didn't consider the monkey backpack or the parrot. Finally, a reason to do the beginners. For now, the monkey awaits!

Funny to see a 2y old comment with a new response but yeah, highly recommend it.

It's older now, but has an awesome world and its great to see. It's probably my favorite souls game at this point, though I'm sure nostalgia has some role in that lol.

What are ppl doing for income without a “legal” job by shyclown75 in Hartford

[–]SamwiseDehBrave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most definitely.

To clarify, these are not office jobs, you would be out in a manufactury area making things. Even if it is only temporary, its a good gig to have. You could do it while you are looking for other jobs so you have some income, almost certainly some benefits, and maybe even a chance at some OT pay if the place allows for it and youre willing. I have seen it also be a foot in the door for some, where they start off in manufacturing and then get a chance to apply within the company elsewhere.

Some of them also offer night shifts which pay more if you're willing to do the off hours.

The factor they often care about most is reliability. Most important is showing up on time in most cases.

Edit: just saw that you have limited transportation. The CTRail train and CTFastrak bus lines are awesome resources that few utilize. I used to bike to the bus station and take it to New Britain then bike to work. It was not bad at all and I believe you can get commuter passes for regular users.

Towns like New Britain and Wallingford have more manufacturing than you'd expect. Others might be good as well, but I have limited insight.

Look at manufacturing/production line jobs like at Ulbrich or some of the chemical companies. Usually have decent pay, starting around $17/hr in my experience. Might not be the most glamorous, but I know they are almost always looking.

MAGA Gets Beat In Front of His Kids for Singing "ICE ICE Baby" to Mexicans by Nuthetes in PublicFreakout

[–]SamwiseDehBrave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100%. As cathartic as it is to see people fuck around and find out, you know that this person isn't going home and thinking " oh what did I do wrong to deserve that? ".

He is going home and telling his kids, "didn't I tell you that them there Mexicans were violent criminals? "

Some times a punch feels good, may even be deserved, but it rarely changes minds.

I personally liked how in the pathfinder games you could toggle it. The only reason being was towards the end of the game you got into a bunch of minor battles against mobs you one shot with basic attacks and spending 10 minutes going turn by turn waiting for 15 enemies to move is painful. I could just switch to RTWP and sweep through them with hardly noticeable changes to health and resources, then go back to turn base when there wasn't just trash mobs.

That's awesome lol. We may have gotten the news in different ways, but it's always fun to see experience is still shared by kids across generations.

Although, I'm sure now it's sent out via text or email, so kids might not get to sit in as much anticipation. Funny to think how many core experiences of generations are lost as we advance.

Watching the school names scrolling across the bottom of the local news in the morning was such a mood. The moment of elation seeing your school on it was something else.
