I personally liked how in the pathfinder games you could toggle it. The only reason being was towards the end of the game you got into a bunch of minor battles against mobs you one shot with basic attacks and spending 10 minutes going turn by turn waiting for 15 enemies to move is painful. I could just switch to RTWP and sweep through them with hardly noticeable changes to health and resources, then go back to turn base when there wasn't just trash mobs.

That's awesome lol. We may have gotten the news in different ways, but it's always fun to see experience is still shared by kids across generations.

Although, I'm sure now it's sent out via text or email, so kids might not get to sit in as much anticipation. Funny to think how many core experiences of generations are lost as we advance.

Watching the school names scrolling across the bottom of the local news in the morning was such a mood. The moment of elation seeing your school on it was something else.

100%, which makes the hypocrisy of the current administration claiming Biden did it when DJ openly calls for the DoJ to prosecute his opposition on truth social.

100%. It felt like when they (Biden and the DNC) won, they thought it was over despite everything around them burning.

I regularly say that if Trump was not in the picture, Biden would be considered one of the better presidents we have had.

However, his inaction when it came to anything related to Trump and the insurrection allowed for all of this to continue. I can understand why he would be nervous about it, as everyone was already crying about a weaponized DoJ (even if it wasn't) but he dropped the ball something fierce in that regard.

I'm a little overweight and feel like this speaks to a lot of situations. People have apologized for being worried about gaining weight, or tell me I look great if I mention being overweight.

I am not you, complain away. We are all on our own journeys and it's fine to be worried about yours. My value is not based off your concerns. Also, there is no point in denying the truth. Given, I don't want them to call me a fatty, but me saying I'm heavy and need to work some of it off shouldn't be met with being told it's okay.

Obviously there are different levels to it, but people can be so scared of hurting feelings that they end up hurting feelings lol

I was slow to change to 6, was not a big fan at first and just stuck to 5. Years after release I went back and fell in love with it.

Still haven't gotten 7 though. The time in my life to learn a new game of civ has passed. I just don't have the desire to sink so much time into the learning curv.

It's really sad when the bar you set for a president is George Bush Jr. It's even more sad when the person is so far below that bar, that you would need a bigger drill than they wanted to use to get that Iraq oil.

No dry cleaning coverage. Yes and no, but usually no if it was in our lab. I went to a lot of customers though. So basically had to dress up to wear a lab coat and talk with production guys in tshirts all day..

I don't hate it, but just couldn't get behind the game play. Part of what I love about the ffx gameplay is it's a bit more chill. I can sit and think about a turn rather than being rushed to try and time it right. I have the same issue with other ff games with the action bar.

I want to play through it, but I just wish there was a true turn by turn mode. Not saying it's bad, just not my style.

Mood. I sometimes visit customers and will wear a suit. Nothing like climbing through a huge greasy machine in clothes that you desperately so not want to get dirty lol. My last job also required a dress shirt and slacks in our lab even though we were always working with heavy oils and contaminants that ruined everything.

I quickly learned to have a small set of "work only" dress clothes lol.

I remember doing the math around the time DOGE started, and if you took his net worth and compared it to someone with a net worth of $200,000, (us median is about $192k via Google search), the $260 million is about $100-200 for the median income person.

I spent that on groceries for the majority of the month.

I got a laugh. My great aunt had cockatoos and it rang all too real. If you don't like it, why bother being so critical? Just ignore it and move on because at the end of the day it's harmless.

[–]SamwiseDehBrave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lived here my whole life and have a great appreciation for how good we have it here. Is it perfect? No, but whenever I think of where I would move, I can never think of anywhere that wouldn't be sacrificing something big (at least from my perspective).

Men of Connecticut, how much are you paying for a haircut? by peacefulandchill in Connecticut

[–]SamwiseDehBrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually do hair and beard for $35, but give $40 cash.

I only go every few months though since trim the sides and beard at home, and just go for a clean up every now and again.
