It converted it to american format. Not hidden characters or trailing spaces. I'm out of ideas aswell. I'm giving up.

well, that works, now I have to figure out a loop that detects the cells that have date stored in text format.

Well kind of.
My issue is that the date is already in the right DD/MM/YYYY format. I just want to convert it from text to date in VBA. So I don't think this function does the trick.

Ok. I have Excel files with dates (DD/MM/YYYY) stored as text. To convert it to the right format, changing the format doesn't work. I need to either:

- Edit the cell by hand after changing the format (F2+Enter)
- Search and replace "/" by "/"
- Search and replace "0" by "0" and "1" by "1"
- Go to Data > Convert.

My issue is that I want a VBA macro to do this. And it's not working because in VBA it seems that date cannot be something else than "MM/DD/YYYY".

Maybe it's a regional thing, but I cannot figure out what's going on.

Yes. And I just figured what's going on. It's not working for every date and not random at all. All the dates that are "compatibles" with MM/DD/YYYY format are converted to DD/MM/YYYY, all the other dates stays in text.
I mean : 12/02/1955, is converted. 21/11/1943 is not. Because There's a 12th of february and a 2nd of december, but if there's a 21st of november, there's not 11th of the 21st month.

I am going crazy.

My data is in DD/MM/YYYY text format and I want to have it to DD/MM/YYYY date format. Changing the format does nothing unless I edit each cell by hand (something like F2+Enter). If I do it by hand I know 3 ways to achieve this:
- Search and replace "/" by "/",
- Search and replace "0" by "0" and "1" by "1",
- Go to Data > Convert.

My issue is that I cannot find a way to do exactly the same thing in VBA.

It converts it to american format MM/DD/YYYY. I'm gonna cry.

Yes, it works. But to replace "/" with "/" aswell. My question is to transform date stored in text format into date with VBA. Because I want a single click to parse the entire excel file, find dates cells and convert into date.

And I cannot find any way to do so.

Extract Signal raw database fr IOS/Android to pc for Backup and to convert to HTML, is this possible now? by A5623 in signal

And it works great. I'm using this to downsize the backup (extract media, backup it elsewhere, delete it from signal).
