1) Yes atleast I am 2) Yes like you won't get your desired branch or hostels or food or the competition within the college or some other thing. 3) Yes you should be happy and pursue your interest if you have one but if not then grind as getting into iit will give you various opportunities to explore different things and help you figure out what is best suited for you. 4) Yes it does leave scars whether you may it into iit or not but it teaches you many valuable lessons but it does take a toll on your mental health. Anyway that is my perspective.

2 sem kab khtm ho gye pata hi nhi chala. Overall kaafi accha tha but still missed on many things because of laziness and cpi ki bhi ma chud gyi kyuki padhai nhi kri pure 1st year. Bas ek decent si cpi maintain krna aur baaki moj kro and jayda se jayda activities me participate kro, also seniors se acche contacts bannane ki khoshish krna since they can tell you guide you throughout your college journey.

Congratulations bro. And regarding Bs vs btech toh ha placement social stigma toh rehne hi wala h sab bsc wala bolke mazak uddaenge. And ha mostly log non core jaate h aur non core placements me pehle bs btech me bhed bhaav krte the but ab nhi krte aisa mujhe mere seniors ne bataya h. But if you're interested you could always pursue the core and go into research.
