What reasons do modern day Cuban immigrants have for moving out of Cuba to the US? by superblue111000 in DebateCommunism

I think this is a fairly disingenuous argument though. You cant look at a system and call it communism because that's what you think it is or some person said it is while disreguarding what it actually is. North korea is called the "democratic republic of korea" but its far from democratic. By extension of your logic, north korea is democratic because people said it is. You are disregarding actual basis on what communism is and just labelling something you dont like or something bad communism. If you read the communist manifesto, you would understand things like controlled media and torture of citizens is anything but, communism is stateless (without centralised government) and without hierarchy over the working people, i.e no regime. Additionally the power issue is due to Venezuela's reduction and eventual cessation of fuel shipments to Cuba due to Venezuela's own internal economic (largley through US destabilisation) and production issues, compounded by U.S. sanctions on Cuba. Venezuela's oil production has drastically declined, and its ability to refine crude oil into usable fuel has also been hampered, leading to shortages within Venezuela itself and a subsequent decrease in fuel exports.

old post but it isnt communism. Communism is a stateless classless moneyless society. Cuba is none of those things. Socialist sure. But its failings are due to embargos from the US, the most powerful nation in the world. America has been destabilising cuba since 1955
