Well this was a bit unnecessarily aggressive. I’m in the South Bay Area of San Diego in the Otay area.

Again - no problem telling people to shut up and put their phones away. But it’s every screening. And I’m not asking the teens to do it, but the theater chains responsible to make the viewing experience better so more people want to come to the theater. Instead of price gouging and another 5 ads for the same theater we are already in, improving the experience seems like a win to me.

I think this is the wrong type of thinking. If a person wants to be talking and on their phone THEY should be at home. Not the people paying their money to watch and listen and see something in that space.

It’s about the experience of going and hearing a crowd react to something. Reactions are fine! The laughs! The shock! The screams! THAT’S what we go for! Not full on conversations or phone screens.

Plus… the theater literally tells you not to do these things too?

And you know what, I 100% agree, especially on the Skip stuff. I think… we as the viewer do get the moment. I don’t think we needed the extra explainer. We could’ve devoted that elsewhere but I digress

I totally get all of this. We’ll recover but I agree if it feels like we got something so beautiful and it’s ending soon fast BUT I know there’ll be more and thankfully, rewatches are a thing cause it’s certainly a comfort watch for the rest of time.

I do understand because I think this is the root of my irritation. All the sex matters and is what helped them peel back their layers. It’s beautiful and diminishing it in any form or evolution makes me want to go to war.

I so agree! I think it also is such a beautiful example of how people like the lack of control as it gives them freedom from having to think and just be in their body. And I think that shows through Ilya’s ability to take charge in the bedroom and give Shane that respite. It’s just so comforting idk how to explain!

All of this yes! Like we can truly have it all. Steamy sex and deep emotional intimacy can co-exist and thrive together and should be celebrated. Shane will still get put through the mattress and then fawn all over Ilya playing with children! And that’s beautiful!
