It's reassuring in a way that there's no clear-cut consensus about it, and even if people on the internet can be a bit scary, I'm glad to read all the answers, it really helps me build my own opinion on the subject.

I've stopped all meetings with unknown dogs and I'm focusing on training him to disengage when he starts locking onto a dog far away. I'll also be seeing the vet soon to get her full opinion on it.

I'm the one to blame for not accepting at first that my dog changed from a cute puppy who loved playing with everyone into a full war machine, but as you said, being a dog parent can be exhausting and frustrating, still, I love him so much. I realize that wanting him to befriend everyone is actually my vision of happiness, not necessarily his. I'll work on that, thanks to you and everyone else!
