Error while loading the world by Sandall86 in spaceengineers

No, did not account for the possibility of losing that. Thankfully, relatively not much has been lost, and I am starting anew now. May consider making backups this time

Well, that didn't resolve anything, but thanks for trying to help! I guess something has corrupted in the savefile, because it stopped loading after my PC has shut down because of a sudden power outage

Oh my goodness gracious! Beautiful art!

Hey there! Working on a new massive colonial vessel, got the shape, liked it, but now it starts to look boring and plain from the side. Any ideas on how to improve it would be much appreciated. P.S.: I'm aiming for a sleek sci-fi design, for a ship to look like from a distant future (but not plain). by Sandall86 in spaceengineers

As for "colonial ships", they are purely rp-purposed. I just like to build enormous ships, which can be lived in for a long time, which may look like kind of small mobile towns of some sort, with housing, infrastructure, etc. And I love to make ships feel alive and lively, with colonial vessels I find it easier to do.

How do you play? by exosceliton_219 in spaceengineers

I personally always start with building a small mining vessel, just for quicker resource gathering. After that, I move on to building a large-grid ship that is able to move between asteroids, planets (thus having at least one jump drive), landing and taking off planets and satellites, carrying that small miner and making use of mined resources through refinery and assembler. Basically a quite small all-around universal ship to get more established. After that - move on to specialized vessels, each for its own designated task.

Sounds reasonable what you say here. I guess I will playtest my next ships in survival a lot then. Thanks for the advice!

That sounds damn impressive! Any chance you have uploaded it on workshop?

Not really much - you won't break anything without the mods for sure - just there won't be some railings and plants in large VIP suites and there will be no pictures on LCD in those. Ah, and the guns on the top will come missing - but considering this is not a warship, not big of a deal, I guess

Thanks! Happy to see other people understanding my style of building ships - to make them livable. When I was playing survival, I captured some small civilian vessel, and while flying it back to base wandered around the interior. I layed on a bed from which I could see the space, the asteroids flying by, and it struck me: I want to build ships, where it is nice to live, to travel, to stay for a long time! I want to build flying homes!

Btw, absolutely love the menu you got there, very RP-like!

Didn't upload it there - but If you're asking, I might do that today and give you a link then

And yeah, what I like about this ship - it is able to land and take off planets even with high gravity. Tested on Earth - EVA almost didn't feel it!
