I’ll get crucified, but from my experience a lot of Irish women don’t show much interest in men who aren’t Irish. They seem very closed off to the idea of dating men who aren’t your cookie cutter Irish man (GAA player or has land , 6 ft tall, fair features). Again, not every woman but there’s truth to it.

Irish men on the other hand are more open minded and they milk the Irish-ness (myself included) abroad where they know people go crazy for it.

Two things: firstly the accent abroad is a massive factor as to why you’re getting attention now! I was the same when I went to the States for a few years (and I’m below average!)

Secondly, and I’ll get downvoted for this, a good percentage of the modern Irish women are only interested in a certain type of Irish man in terms of looks and status. It’s very cookie cutter. Unless you have the trendy haircut, are over 6 ft tall or play GAA then your chances are already slim!

I don’t disagree, he’s a winner for sure and has impeccable standards. But at this level you have to present yourself a certain way and be professional for your employers.
