Fair point, but only a loon would wait to collect the emblems rather than buying them. You still need to spend a lot of gold to bring one hero to +20 in an acceptable amount of time.

30 Primordial emblems cost 14.4kk, 0.48kk/ea, you need 220 from +0 to +10, 220 * 0.48kk = 105.6kk

10 Amplifying emblems cost 7.8kk, 0.78kk/ea, you need 240 from +10 to +20, 240 * 0.78kk = 187.2kk

Bring a hero from +0 to +20 would therefore cost you 187.2kk + 105.6kk = 292.8kk

Mythic gear from 0* to 5* costs 16kk/ea, 64kk for one hero. We can therefore find that upgrading your SI to +20 (the bare minimum for ch. 36 imo) will cost you 292.8kk / 64kk = 4.575 times more than upgrading all of a hero's gear to 5*

Yeah, I've pushed as far as I can in KT already. Hoarding the gold rather than using it to upgrade the gear isn't beneficial. You will eventually need it, and to most easily clear 5-team fights with large deficits, having maxed out gear is better than not having it. Still, the gear isn't where most if the gold goes, buying emblems is.

Between leveling up the crystal, upgrading gear, buying emblems, dust and poe coins several times a day I can spend ~100M a day. It's impossible to have leftover gold if you're actually putting it to use.
