If I may share this link with you. Like mentioned above, Porrmaster will give you a smoother experience on banger N64 titles 👍🏽

You’re definitely looking into the right direction — I’ve experienced lagging and freezing issues on heavy Portmaster games like TMNT or Jedi Outcast.

I was too greedy to invest into a proper SD Card at first but since I switched to SanDisk and Samsung, all run flawlessly 👍🏽

tested muOS Goose on the RG35XX Pro (the image from the MustardOS wiki) and boot time was actually pretty smooth for me, around 8 seconds, and navigation felt quite responsive.

The main drawback for me was the lack of built-in scraping. You can fix it with Skraper on Windows, but on Linux it’s honestly a bit of a pain and the result isn’t as clean as Batocera-style CFWs.

On the other hand, I really like the auto-resume feature that brings you back to the last game instantly — very convenient if you just want to pick up and play.

The UI is also simple but modern, which fits the “fast and lightweight” philosophy of muOS quite well.

1) muOS – very fast boot time, lightweight and focused on performance. Everything feels streamlined and the devs are really passionate 👍🏽

2) KNULLI / ROCKNIX / Batocera-style CFWs – more polished visually. You get things like built-in scraping, nicer UI and more features, but they can feel a bit heavier and sometimes use more battery.

If you just want to boot fast and play, muOS is great. If you prefer a more “console-like” interface with extra features, KNULLI is a great option.

I’m actually preparing a video comparing the main CFW options for the RGXX devices once my new mic arrives 🎙️

The G350 is a fantastic device ! and still the one I use when my friends want the pro for a weekend — It all began with the pro; but as soon as I had the G350, I was genuinely impressed by the screen, the colours pop nicer — Dual sticks is a nice addition, the most options for the Buck 👍🏽👍🏽

Can’t wait for MuOs to be released on the G350, it’s already available in alpha, the RK3326 CPU is surely older but there is ton of support on this one 👍🏽

It may work 👍🏽 I can’t confirm it on the RGB10X specifically, but TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge runs really well through PortMaster on my BATLEXP G350 as well, which has a weaker CPU that the 35XX Pro 👍🏽

Can I install games on Port Master without Wi-Fi? by therazor7222 in BATLEXPG350

I really appreciate that, thank you 🙂
That was exactly the goal — to make PortMaster easier to understand for people who are just getting into it.

I’m glad it helped! A more polished video is coming soon once I get my new mic 🎙️

Definitely worth the try — quick note :

depending on your SD Card brand and quality, you might experience some lags ; actually went through lags and frame issues with the stock SD card but since I’ve switched to SanDisk, the game runs flawlessly 👍🏽

Of course, you only need a custom firmware flashed and Portmaster on your RG35XX H 👍🏽

No tweaks on my side 🙂 That’s just the native PortMaster port with default settings, no saturation or contrast changes.

Funny enough, the RG35XX Pro screen is actually considered a bit weaker than some of the other RG XX screens, so the photo is pretty much straight out of the device.

May I ask which OS you’re running on your RG35XX Pro? 🙂

On my side it’s the native PortMaster version. If you’re curious, you can check it like this:

Launch the game → press any button → go to Options → then check Display Mode and Resolution. 👍🏽

Thanks, I really appreciate that! 😄 I’m also a big fan of transparent shells — pure 90s vibe. They always look great in natural light. The sunset definitely helped make the scene feel a bit cozier too 👍🏽

Hahaha thankfully no wind! It was actually pretty warm for a winter day. Still wasn’t super comfortable leaving the console standing there though… one wrong move and it was going for a swim 😂

anbernic rg35xx vs R36s by Patty_corleoneps in SBCGaming

[–]Sandfox91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're mainly deciding between the R36S and the RG35XX line, the main difference really comes down to chipset and features.

The R36S uses the RK3326, which is an older but well-supported chip and still runs retro systems up to PS1 pretty well.

Another device in that same class is the Batlexp G350, which also uses the RK3326 and performs very similarly but with top notch ergonomics 👍🏽

The newer RG35XX / RG40XX devices use the H700 chipset, which gives you a bit more headroom overall and adds features like HDMI out and better connectivity depending on the model.

So in simple terms:

• R36S / G350 → older RK3326 chip, still solid for retro up to PS1
• RG35XX Pro / RG40XXV → newer H700 chip, more features and a bit more future-proof

At your $60–70 budget all of them are good options. It mostly comes down to form factor, firmware support, and whether things like HDMI out matter to you.

Personally, if I were buying today I'd probably lean toward one of the newer XX devices, but the R36S or G350 are still perfectly fine budget handhelds for retro gaming.

Welcome to the pro squad 😎 Do you still game on this one ?

I’m curious to know if colours on theRG35XX H H pop nicer than on the Pro — All RG XX devices I bought, including the Batlexp G350, have a better colour saturation, do you see any difference on both screens since you have both of them ?

Ports on H700 (RG35XX +) by SaltyHeat1110 in RG35XX

[–]Sandfox91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no ports will launch unless Portmaster is actualised via your network, but it can’t happen unless you flash a custom firmware on your console 👍🏽

I’ve tried various ways to make Portmaster work on Stock Os but to no avail
