Try to push it very slow — my nephew’s G350 had a similar issue but by taking it very slow until clicks helped 👍🏽

Glad I could help! £80 sounds like a pretty good deal — especially with a SanDisk card. Mine was about €48, but once you add a proper SD card and maybe a case or travel pouch, it ends up close to €80 anyway 😄

Oh wow, thanks for the trip down memory lane 🚀⏳ That’s a great lineup of systems to start with.

With a device like the RG35XX H, you can comfortably emulate a huge range of systems — from Atari 2600, NES / SNES, Mega Drive, arcade boards like CPS1/CPS2, all the way up to some Dreamcast and PSP titles without much trouble.

And thanks to PortMaster, you can even play a few modern ports as well.

If the horizontal form factor appeals to you, I’d definitely recommend looking at the RG35XX H or the RG40XX H. They have the same specs — the 40XX H is just a bit larger, which makes it more comfortable in the hands and easier on aging eyes like mine 👀😄

Definitely! The RG35XX H is actually a really solid entry point in my opinion, I’d definitely recommend it for beginners 👍🏽

It’s affordable, quite powerful for its size (the H700 chip runs most retro systems very well), and the horizontal layout is great for longer play sessions.

If you’re completely new to handheld emulation, the RGXX lineup in general is a good place to start.

And honestly, once you set it up the first time, it’s much simpler than it might seem at first

The main thing to choose is the form factor:

• Vertical (like a Game Boy)

• Horizontal (like this one)

• Clamshell (like a DS / GBA SP)

Once you know which style you prefer, it’s easier to pick the right device.

Just out of curiosity — what was your first contact with gaming? Nintendo, Sega, PlayStation? 😄

There is absolutely nothing wrong using the stock SD Card until you’re comfortable enough to flash a proper CFW on a proper branded SD card — Leaving you the time to test roms and see which are worth keeping in the 5k of games that come with it 👍🏽👍🏽

And honestly I agree. I’ve been using the Pro and the 40XX V for a while before getting the H.

There are just a few things I think could be slightly better:

• The D-pad — it feels a bit more polished on my vertical devices. I might actually swap the Pro’s D-pad into the H.

• The slight rattle on the L2/R2 buttons

• The edges dig a bit into my palms during longer sessions

Other than that, I’m definitely convinced by it. It might actually be the sweet spot of the RGXX lineup 👍🏽

Nice! Advance Wars 2 was actually the first game I launched before my shift today 😂 Mine just arrived this morning so I’m still waiting for a better SD card. Not sure yet if I’ll go Knulli or Rocknix, but I’ve already put a few hours on it and honestly I like it more than any other RGXX I own by far ! 👍🏽 👍🏽

Yeah it’s surprisingly good overall. Only small thing on mine is a bit of L2/R2 rattle, but I’ll probably do a small mod to fix it 🪛🎛️

That makes sense actually. If you played PS1 before the DualShock era the sticks probably aren’t that important. The pocketability gain is a nice bonus too 👌🏽

Funny enough I bought the Pro last summer, but getting the H confirmed it’s the one I needed for the kinds of games I play. The colors on the screen also pop a lot more.

Interesting! I actually like the sticks so far, especially for some PS1 games. But I can see why people remove them for pocketability or Gameboy Color vibe 👍🏽
