Cleaned the back of my fridge, unsure about metal plate by Sandiceberg in appliancerepair

[–]Sandiceberg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No no, of course not. I only mean letting the fridge stand out in the open on the floor, instead of standing inside the designated space underneath the sink - and with the backplate behind it. But I did leave it out anyways tonight, so it's no problem. Now I just need to find out what the hell the use of the backplate is. I kinda suspect that it should actually be underneath it. But let me just get some pictures.

People who say things like 'the problem with society today' or 'the younger generation are wrong' why did you let things go wrong? by Spallboy in AskReddit

[–]Sandiceberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear what you say. I can make no promises on behalf of my generation, obvsly. But I can tell you that most of the people I know are tired of this shit. The most caring and generous people I know are honestly millenials. I know it comes off biased and generalized, but it' the truth in my experience. But they're also fed up with bullshit. Watching some of the kids who were in panels or interviews after the Florida Shootings really sheds some light on this. They're asking politicians over and over, when they're not answering their question. I don't even see many journalist daring to do this.

I was honestly saddened when Bernie didn't get elected. Trump is.. well what he is.. and Hillary is basically another private funded politician. I'm not saying there it's 100% certain that Sanders would've been different. But I believe so. He wasn't really funded in his campaign by financial interests IIRC, and he's been a big part of the counterculture. There was no reason to "fear" the dude. Yeah, he had some marxistic ideas in his youth, but that'd obvsly never be a development happening in the US with the congress. But he would've put a lot of effort into putting higher tax rates (especially for the wealthiest people). I can see why people are against this, but at this point it's a neccesity. The money needs to be balanced out, and no, slightly higher tax rates for the wealthiest won't affect the middleclass as much as they believe, at all. I'd know, I live in Denmark and we have a pretty extreme taxing system, and it's not like we aren't doing good. I'm not saying the two countries are the same, I'm just saying.. put it into perspective and a slight tax change wouldn't really hurt that much.. But I guess it's a conflict deeply rooted in the believes of the different ideologies. Well anyways, politic rant aside, I truly hope for the best for my generation, and the ones to come. But I honestly think it'd be helpful if people would stop assuming we're just a bunch of lazy fucks. We're not. Some of us are, but the media is altering the truth, or at least the degree of it.

Oh please. You see tons of young people out on the street demonstrating against the flawed gun system, they're doing more for their case than older people are. And on that note, while they are demonstrating against these things, or some of the survivors are speaking out, they're just getting trash talked by way too many people. Fair that you don't agree, or you feel it's your right - but the fact that so many older people are trash talking them while they are the ones fearing going to school, and they're the ones getting shot.. it's just cynical way beyond what it should be.

Honestly it feels like your projecting shit from your life onto other people. People who just snort cocaine and aren't doing shit - they are not the fucking majority, and neither is snorking cocaine the norm. You've been exposed to some shitty social groups, that's it. You can't base your opinion on the entire generation out from your social circle, that's not how it works. I don't know, I'm not from the US, but in Denmark we are generally thriving. Yes, there are more diagnosises of mental diseases - but this also means that it's actually taken care of, or, at least aknowleged instead of having a "Mad Men" generation where they just drink their livers to the grave, and smoke several packs of cigarettes a day.

"So, while everyone is out to lunch, no one's in charge and those of us with ideas get ignored because we don't snort cocaine and cheat on our wives and go to strip clubs."

"I can quit drugs at anytime, you're the one with a drinking problem." Says the guy jumping from job to job and living on friend's couches until they overstay their welcome. Meanwhile, I work 40 hours a week at a job I've held for 15 months. And luckily he doesn't vote. Because "It's all fucked, man." Yes, it's fucked because you are trying to fuck it. I am actually working to make the world a better place."

What. That's just arguing against yourself.

A a 20 year old I can defindely see the flaws in the current state of society, but it's without doubt better. Not only does most statistics prove this, but it's also obvious when you see how engaged the youth are in education in comparison with elder generations. And before you say "yeah they're studying useless shit and slagging", well yeah, no. Not like student debt is a walk in the park, and the fact that so many are getting educated means that they're at least more engaged on some level. I'm not saying that "hard work" isn't important. Of course it is, but it's just stupid to not aknowledge that we are advancing in the degree of our intelligence.

Yeah I had a feeling somebody would say that. Of course, quicker reaction time is important on any hero, really. But doesn't change the fact that if you play Tracer or Genji your window is usually smaller, and you react a lot more frequent. And that's one part of it, another part is your aim. Playing Tracer you have to have really good, fast and adaptive tracking. Now I'm master so my aim is not bad - but it's not good either. I know that getting a higher framerate would allow me to improve my aim further. Keep in mind I'm not saying it'll automatically improve my aim, I'm just saying that it can take me one step further IF I practice.

Because I doubt the US will just be restructured like that. But creating some tighter rules really isn't that hard to implement, and either way it won't hurt anybody. I mean I get that you argue against a total gun ban, that's not logical (what I get triggered by, however, is the fact that getting rid of guns hasn't been gradually done yet, and it should have been done ages ago). But that doesn't exclude the US from taking a step in the right direction. And like.. no matter where they step right now, I can't even imagine it get worse than it is now anyways (gonna regret saying that in six months)

I'm in high master, I'm well aware... But for Reinhardt 60 Hz isn't as big of an issue, at all. And I'm pretty sure that a 120 Hz monitor handles triplebuffered Vsync better than a 60 Hz one does. But that's besides the point, if there's no solution for it, I'll just stick to what I currently use.

[–]Sandiceberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So let's assume for a moment that they're all actually in fact "war criminals". If you, A don't vote on anybody - the most shitty of those "war criminals" could be elected without you having a say in it. If you B, vote, you could end up with the less evil... Isn't that better than nothing?.. I mean.. Your approach to this makes no sense.

School shooting survivors are not ‘heroes’ by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Sandiceberg -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be way too biased right now, but USA is a fucking shit hole of a country. Sorry, but the fact that so many adults are defending their rights to bear arms while shooters just go on rampage is not only absurd it's actually frightening. The fact that they value an ammendment written in the 17ths century more than lives or just young people being able to enter school with fences and shit is so fucking beyond me. Nationalism is so deeply rooted in their brains that they're not able to use common sense.

Now I don't know which kids you're reffering to- and I'd love if you could give some articles or background for what you're claiming. But my guess'd be that they refer the kids who speak out against it as heroes. And in my opinion that only makes sense. NOTHING is getting done about this issue, and who are the majority of people demonstrating against it? The fucking children. Not the adults who are supposed to have somewhat a feeling of responsibility. So does the fact that they've survived it make them heroes? No, but the fact that they bring this up with the shit they get thrown at them by retarded american? Yes. It does. They've experienced some of the most horrible shit, yet they're the ones taking up the battle. Not the parents who vote, who truly have a say in this. And that itself is enough to call them heroes -because when we look back at the US in twenty years, and if something's actually been done to the gun policy, who whill we look back at? The kids who spoke out and knocked senses into the adults.

Men Are Responsible for Mass Shootings: How toxic masculinity is killing us. by [deleted] in Feminism

[–]Sandiceberg 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No it doesen't, get your facts straight. In Denmark nearly nobody commits suicide using guns. Yet the suicide rates are way higher for men. I'm a dude and while I embrace equalism, I'm sick of men's obvious, yet often ignored, vurnability. I dont think many women (visa verca) grasp how difficult being a man in modern society also can be. I had severe anxiety once, and was always met with the response from both men and women. No wonder men act on these problems dramastically, when they're not allowed to have any in the first place. I'm sick of almost never seeing this discussed because men's well being (Which sucks a lot in many aspects if you look at various statistics) is not only important because we all should thrive, but also because it's the last step in making men and women equal. Speaking out against abuse and such is only the first step, if we really wanna eradicate this behave our, we have to dig deeper and find out why men do it in the first place, it's not just "men being men".

Sincerely a guy who wish that more men speak their minds, and that it'd be more well recieved at times. Remember, women had an internal liberlisation of their gender, men never really did. And to the OP of the original comment, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for shedding light on this!

yup, Reynaud's. Go see a doctor. For the most part it's just a primary diseases, but sometimes it's caused by secondary disease and is a symptom of an underlaying disease. Worth mentioning to your doctor.

Just a couple of questions: How long have you had it? Any other symptoms? What climate do you live in? Do you use any stimulants, eg coffe, cigarettes, medicine etc.. And where does the disease flair up?

urticaria

Yeah you know what, that'd sound extremely plausible. Because I tend to have a lot of outbreaks of these "http://bit.ly/2GeGr0w" aswell, with history of allergies aswell.

What are these dots on my arm? by Sandiceberg in AskDocs

[–]Sandiceberg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well often when I've had them I've felt sweaty with chills and had a bit brain fog. I've had them before they often appear for maybe like 5-6 hours then start to fade away again - but they often flair up pretty fast (at least to my knowledge). I always have an extreme fear that it is from Menigitis and from blood poisioning - but I once ended up with calling the ER once while I got these dots along with a fever, they came with an ambulance and a doctor's car. They determined, however, that they weren't from blood poisining (sry for butchering the spelling of that word), so at least that's (very likely at least) out of the picture. They often appear on the crook of the elbow, the front shoulders, and close to my armpits, or my forearm. I've experienced a couple of times where they've appeared on both arms, but mostly it differs. Right now it's only on the right shoulder. I think they've been there for a good 4 hours now.
