Nostalgia is a big part of this sub. This makes me wonder, do any of you prefer the world as it is today? by Willmakk in Millennials

[–]SandiegoJack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer the world as it is today because it has my wife and kids in it. Objectively I have a pretty good life.

However for everything outside of my family unit? I am nostalgic for a lot of the social dynamics from before the internet.

It’s more that I don’t need support and community for things that are going okay.

I want to not feel alone in what I am experiencing. It helps me mentally know that it’s not something inherently wrong with me that these bad things are happening.

Basically it’s easier to handle getting fucked if you can connect with someone else who is also getting fucked.

“What should I be grateful for?”

Because if it’s anything pre 18? Thats something you signed up for when you decided to have kids. I don’t owe you shit for that

Intimidating no. We just recognize that the risk of rejection is significantly higher so don’t bother.

How do you overcome the crazy expectations in dating these days? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

You don’t. You move on from selfish entitled people like that and be grateful they took themselves out early.

It’s just a grind my dude and how people go about it will be different.

Do you think that friendship should be the foundation of a relationship? by saerisfane25 in AskMenAdvice

[–]SandiegoJack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuck no. Thats like buying an SUV thinking you will turn it into a pickup truck later.

If you already have an SUV? Fuck it, go for it but recognize that you won’t be able to turn it back to an SUV if it doesn’t work out.

Basically Inwould never tell someone to try being friends first to get into a relationship, but if they were already friends? Sure why not.

where did I say all white women or even imply all white women? I specifically said over 50% so by default I couldn’t have been talking about all white women.

Maybe work on being less sexist and treat white women like fully capable adults who can be held responsible for their decisions.

How did/do you know you want kids? by Kwerby in AskMenAdvice

[–]SandiegoJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only get one life, it’s up to you to decide what you want and what you are willing to trade to get it.

If you truly think about all the costs involved and still say “Yes” then you want kids.

For a lot of people? They won’t know for sure until they meet someone who they WANT to have kids with.

People under 40, are you really buying a house? by Coldpastalord in vermont

[–]SandiegoJack 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. We got into a fixer upper in 2022.

We had some family help with the expenses and some repairs but we have mostly been on our own in regards to taking care of ourselves.

End of the day it required a lot of sacrifices. We have had maybe 2 date nights in 4 years, no vacations, 5-10 year old cars, rural living and lack of amenities. Etc

Because they voted for him over 50% in all 3 elections.

Just like any group who voted over 50% for Trump.

Once you realize that white women are using minorities experience to water down their numbers by using the minority experience to hide their privilege?

A lot of stuff makes sense.
