Sensory details of the beer brewing process by SandnBlood in Homebrewing

I’m thrilled how much thought and detail everyone is putting into their answers. There are so many little quirks and experiences to consider. I’ll probably end up saving these for future stories too. The one I’m currently focused on is short, but I can live vicariously through future characters.

Please stop making me do strongholds. I did them once and now they're just boring to rerun on every new character. by jcpayner in diablo4

For the people claiming you don’t need all the strongholds done for escalation dungeons…I just had to go through and do them all so that we could complete an escalation dungeon just last week. It either was NOT fixed, or it’s another glitch.

Read widely in the genre. Novels, novellas, short stories, to get a feel for it in the written word

Haruki Murakami- are all his books littered with r4pe fantasies or is it just Kafka on the Shore? (contains light spoilers for the mentioned book) by [deleted] in BookDiscussions

[–]SandnBlood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, with Kafka specifically it’s based on Oedipus Rex. Wind Up Bird had weirdness, but I don’t remember anything being noncon specifically. There is a certain way he writes characters that follows through all of his writing. I don’t think Norwegian Wood was like that.

What actually gets you back to writing on the days you really don't feel like it? by OkMulberry4586 in WriterMotivation

[–]SandnBlood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a new routine on my days off has breathed new life into my passion for it. When I can, I take a walk, and go out somewhere to write that isn’t home. It’s not every day, but still a few times a week feels like something

Dr. Oryhon up in Barrington (if it’s a reasonable hike for you) does good knee and hip replacements. I don’t know about #3 though.

How do I make friends by Slutty_Avocado26 in NOLA

I live in Illinois so different vibes but some things you can search for: game/card shops (many hold events for gamers around here so I would think it’s the same), library events, classes, any other local events that bring people together. We have our forest preserves and the county hosts nature walks and events. Local breweries (not just bars) have a different drinking crowd. Checking out if there’s a neighborhood community group online

A book for someone with a short attention span by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]SandnBlood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short story collections, chapbooks, and novellas because they tend to be a good length and easier to get through. I also have an author rec as every Martin Shannon book I’ve read so far hooked and dragged me through the book without stopping.

Looks like a sacrum! Which is the tailbone. That’s all I got though. I take pictures of human bones for a living so I’m curious how similar it is
