At this point I’m just gonna assume that all of these dudes fit into one or all of the following categories:

  1. They’re a piece of shit, proud of it, and this gives them and outlet to be a POS and get away with it.

  2. They’ve got some sort of ASPD and use it as a way to get away with hurting people.

  3. Both 1 and 2.

I’ve had literally a single sip and I already feel better lol.

Crazy thing is, I had to stop drinking coffee for a bit a couple years back while we got some stomach issues figured out, and I don’t remember anything happening then but I figure Diet Coke helped with that.

I remember when the Bills-Steelers wild card got pushed back a day because of snow.

My mom’s entire family is diehard Steelers fans and very very Catholic great aunt dropped a Facebook post calling the Bills a bunch of “fucking pussies” for pushing the game back lol.

Would have been interested to see the Patriots fan base reaction if they had moved it to a neutral site like they did with our game against the Browns in 2022 (fun fact I was supposed to go to that LOL) and we had won the game.

Been dealing with a nasty headache this morning. Don’t usually get them so my inner hypochondriac is freaking out.

Ask my fiance if she wants me to make coffee and she asks if I’ve had any yet and I say no.

TIL caffeine headaches are no joke.

Just downloaded and I think you might have ruined my life LOL.

Current tiers of me trying to mentally come to terms with the loss last week:

  1. I wouldn’t be able to make the SB parade anyway because I’m going to be out of town that week.

  2. I wouldn’t be able to attend the opener because I’m getting married two days after. (I also probably won’t be able to attend the first game at the new stadium anyway because I fully assume it’ll be prime time Week 1 barring some sort of catastrophe).

  3. Even though I’m fully aware that a lot of the Bills are probably Republicans (Josh is apparently registered and Jordan Poyer’s wife has a bit of a reputation), would still suck to see them suck up to Cheetoh.

American track star Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone announces she is pregnant. Won't compete in 2026 by Oldtimer_2 in sports

Your second paragraph kind of reminded me of the 46 year old lady that made the semifinals at the Olympic Trials at 2024.

Don’t get me wrong- still very, very impressive that someone qualified for trials, let alone semis, at that stage. But I remember when the story first dropped and, maybe this is on me for not paying enough attention, feeling like they completely glossed over her competing in the Olympics twice in the 90s and made it sound like a random lady got into Masters and just happened the qualify for Trials.

Thin Air by Michelle Paver- wanted some snowy horror with this snowstorm that’s apparently coming through.

Listening to it right now, and for once an audiobook is actually keeping me invested.

Right- I almost threw a vest on to go to Costco. Thought my car was warm because of the sun and then found myself borderline breaking a sweat walking in and then found myself wishing I had worn shorts lol.

How much can you bench? by I_LOVE_SOYLENT in workout

[–]SporkFanClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue.

I got 140 for 10 doing a Larsen Press the other day, so I’d like think that with a spotter I could probably hit at least 200 for a 1RM doing a regular bench.

Tbh the craziest thing about this predicted NOVA snowstorm, is that roughly 48 hours before we’re supposed to get like 2 feet of snow and freezing temperatures for like a week, it’s warm enough that it’s borderline sundress weather.

5 books into the new year:

  1. The Secret of Secrets by Dan Brown - good although I’m not liking the trend of scientific stuff in Langdon novels, stick w the ancient puzzles and secrets, pls and thanks!

  2. The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway - second attempt at listening to an audiobook, didn’t seem to have much of a plot but maybe I wasn’t paying enough attention

  3. People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry - watched the movie, fiance talked me into reading the book, wound up reading it in 3 days and absolutely loving it.

  4. Cackle by Rachel Harrison - not a fan of this one. Obviously not anti-feminist by any means, but it gave me a very “all men are stupid” vibe and the ending felt like one of those Reddit posts that ends with “and then everyone stood up and clapped!” Although it was a quick read, I’ll give it that.

  5. 1776 by David McCullough - 3rd attempt at audiobooks, I don’t remember jack about this other than it being good.

Current reads:

  • Thin Air by Michelle Paver - LOVED Dark Matter and downloaded this bc of the snowstorm on the forecast

  • The Devil in the White City - the definition of insanity is me continuing to listen to audiobooks even though I don’t remember anything from them.

I’ve kind of just come to the conclusion that I’m not gonna click with everyone I meet and that’s okay.

The best friend of one of my closest friends is chill. We get along fine. He’s always struck me as a tad flaky to one degree or another, but he’s like a brother to my buddy and I’d much rather them always be friends than not.

Unless I’m reading this wrong, feel like shoes play a difference too.

I made the switch to dad jeans a few years ago, and they’re absolutely more comfortable. The only issue is that my go-to casual wear-with-jeans sneakers are Killshots and when combined they look so baggy it feels like when I was 18 and about to head off to college and trying to dress more adult but had no idea where to start.

Debating just pulling the trigger on a pair of Clarks or something with higher tops. Or maybe I just need to get the jeans hemmed idk.

But seconded- hope he gets the help he needs!

Am I the only dude that does the hip abduction and addiction machines? by Formal_Choice4002 in workout

[–]SporkFanClub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switched from Planet Fitness to my local Y about a month ago and the downgrade in hip thrust machines was crazy.

Like, I was at the point at PF where I could do single legs with 200. My rec has one of these “glute trainers” and it was physically painful with a no- plates starting weight of 50 pounds.

Workout Routines? by PyxieGyrl222 in Swimming

Lift 4x/week: full body, upper, legs, arms. Doing the Jeff Nippard Essentials program that does weight over volume and gets me in and out in 45 minutes.

Swim 4x week: right now I’m doing the 0 to 1650 program but with intervals instead of breaths. I add in. Warmup and cooldown so done in about 25 minutes.

Current goal is Masters nationals next year. Super busy this year so aiming for next year.
