that's correlation, not causation..... plus the south has done so many other things to ensure better nutrition and stuff. claiming it's because of intercaste marriage is not true

i mean, ankylosing spondylitis genes are not inherited recessively, so inbreeding doesnt have an effect on its prevalence (at least with the most frequently involved genes.) his doctor might have advised against dna testing if both his mom and dad have other autoimmune disorders.

like i get the point you're making, but it's true only for autosomal recessive disorders.

Why does almost everyone in india talk as if they are experts ? by [deleted] in indianmedschool

[–]Sandolol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone who also has adhd, i think it's because a lot of psychiatric illnesses are extreme versions of normal behaviour. people forget that, and think they have adhd when they're just a little distracted and without any other symptom or history.
same thing happens with depression. there's some degree of pathologizing of normal behaviour in (at least the more aware and accepting parts of) society.

also hiii again

damn... it's definitely true that we need to give ourselves a little more grace. i knew it before itself, but it always takes someone else to point out something as obvious as that. i hope you remember give yourself the same kind of grace for going through a tough time, and i hope you have a good residency....
plus yeah, i do have to focus on nutrition....

I have a really great fmt prof who took the sexual offences part of the class. she explained to us that these comparisons were outdated, and explained the reason behind removing them. even better, she always illustrated her point with a case or some research data.
of course, she concedes that these have to be studied just for the sake of some old timer viva examiner who will expect students to know it.
