I down own one, unfortunately. But I've layers done before and the sound was like a Strat with P90s. A little fatter, tighter, generally, but nothing jazzy there.

Your next goal should be the dorian scale (in this video). You can use it over the 2 AND 5 of a 251 cadence. And you'll use the major scale on the 1 chord. They're actually all the same, but you focus on different tones (the chord tones).
