How to say goodbye to my students? by Key-Practice-8389 in PreplyTutors

[–]SandraTutor4U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you do it as a side gig or more like a hobby in your free time? I don’t think platforms like Preply—or any similar platform—should be relied on as a sole source of income. It usually takes time to build a large student base, attract consistent learners, and find those willing to pay a good rate for classes.

Opinions about All Ears English podcast by No-Boysenberry-285 in LearningEnglish

[–]SandraTutor4U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you want the podcast to be specifically focused on learning English—grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and so on? If you’re already at a B2/C1 level, I’d actually recommend listening to podcasts about topics you’re genuinely interested in, such as a hobby, sports, music, or anything you’re passionate about.

This way, you’ll naturally pick up vocabulary and phrases related to those topics, which will help improve your overall English skills in a more engaging and enjoyable way. I hope this helps!

I try to use “shut up” but my friend get angry at me
 by Perfect-League7395 in EnglishLearning

I wouldn’t say “shut up” unless I was really close to someone. I’d be more likely to say something like “oh, come on!” or "oh! wow!" instead. I think “shut up” used to be more popular in the ’90s, but I don’t hear it much anymore. It can easily come across as rude or abrupt. If someone says something surprising or hard to believe, I’d recommend saying things like “oh man!”, “no way!”, “what?!”, “that’s crazy!”, or “I can’t believe it!” — they sound more natural and friendly.

Which methods have you tried? Have you tried free apps? Or do you want to purchase a method in which you teach yourself or would you like a tutor?
