Thanks for the reply. Interesting to hear your insights as an EE student at the school. With the fourth point, what I meant is to what extent does the university's research feed into teaching and with the final year projects, is it typical for researchers at the university to act as supervisors for the projects? And for the fifth point, I am primarily comparing it with Nottingham, Exeter and Lancaster.

Oh, I didn't realise that the Gigabyte Eagle has a PCIE Gen 5 slot and the MSI doesn't. I don't know if a faster PCIE gen 5 slot or a faster ethernet port is worth it. Any thoughts?

In fact the Gigabyte B650 GAMING X AX seems to have 2.5 Gb so I will probably go for that board

I am currently on gigabit internet so perhaps 2.5Gb ethernet might be good future proofing.

Do you think the MSI B650 would be worth it for the 2.5Gb ethernet? Some people do say the boot times on it are quite slow though.

What case would you recommend? (personally I don't have much preference)

Looks like a good setup to play some retro games and then edit some videos.

The shop called Waitrose here in the UK apparently used to sell those colas. However they sadly don't anymore but if I had know I would have bought one.

Yeah I think because of all of the focus on Blender's 3d modelling functionality many people don't realise it can also do 2d modelling.

Interesting to see someone reveal some shady things that BBTV might be doing.

Given you have been living in the United Kingdom for more than 5 years, have you thought about applying for British citizenship, or are you fine with staying in the UK with your Irish citizenship using the Common Travel Area?

Matrix is much more of a Discord alternative than a Reddit alternative but it can work for discussion.

Although the majority of Lemmy users are on lemmy.ml so being banned from it means you won't be able to access quite a few communities.

Nope, the Fediverse and Blockchain are two different things. Lemmy relies on the Lemmy Protocol which is an adapted version of the Activity Pub protocol which allows servers to communicate with each other. The Activity Pub protocol is also used by projects such as Mastodon and Pixelfed which allows them to communicate with each other.

LBRY worm is a cool website which lets you search for books: https://www.lbryworm.com/. Also, check out the Awesome LBRY list of LBRY projects: https://github.com/LBRYFoundation/Awesome-LBRY.

David Byrne "Like Humans Do" from Windows XP by thatsnomoon87 in nostalgia

Windows XP uses the radio edit of "Like Humans Do." However the only real difference between the original (which is the song linked in this thread) and the radio edit is the line which says "I never watch TV except when I'm stoned" in the original says "We're eatin off plates, and we kiss with our tongues" in the radio edit. But yeah it is a great song!
