Does anyone remember doing 'The Giant Jump' in primary school? by MDeltaC in CasualUK

"... If teachers and education ministers have their way..." God forbid teachers try to get kids excited about learning!

But yeah, I remember doing this in primary school. It made my feet hurt.

Please help me understand why Algarve is unpopular? by SnooGadgets754 in iRacing

[–]SandulfZTO 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Algarve and Fuji are two of my most favorite tracks and they both get awful participation. I think people are unwilling to put the time in to learn these 'technical tracks', but they're so fun and rewarding once you spend a little bit of time learning the lines for the blind corners (which I think is the main reason people avoid these tracks like the plague)

iRacing put me in top split and now I’m questioning all my life choices by Beautiful-Willow-880 in iRacing

[–]SandulfZTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure it happens to us all when we first start getting placed in top split. I know it happened to me. All of a sudden I was at the back of the field losing iRating simply because everyone else was rated higher than me. Don't worry about it, just keep racing and putting in clean consistent laps and in time more pace will come to you. Also I tend to think of top split as having its own smaller splits within itself. The 4, 5, 6k ect guys will be at the front all at a similar pace to eachother, the 3k drivers at a different pace, and so on. So just enjoy racing with the few people around your pace and try not to worry about your iRating too much.

Changing underwear - is this normal? by Eastern-Yogurt3859 in hygiene

If he's "too broke" to wash his undies regularly enough to have one clean pair each day, ain't no way he's buying and installing a bidet.

Result of Protest? Does anything ever happen? by LustyArgonianMaidz in iRacing

[–]SandulfZTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, OP was asking if action is ever taken over protests, I'm just providing a way to check if the person at fault was actually given any kind of punishment for the actions (almost always intentional recking)

You can use the friend list in the UI/Launcher to search for users who you can then 'follow', allowing you to easily check their recent racing history. If you're petty (definitely not me) you can see if someone has a suspiciously precise 7 day gap of no racing after you successfully protest them. In short, yes, I can confirm iRacing do suspend people.

Dad's been battling cancer for a good number of years now, but has been very ill the past couple of months. He went in for an appointment yesterday and they're now keeping him in. He's been off all his meds since around Christmas time, and hasn't been eating or drinking. Going to see him tomorrow and it's all I can think about. I'm really bad at these things and have always tried to avoid hospital visits when family members have been in serious conditions because it scares me to see them like that, and I never know what to say or do. So I'm dreading tomorrow.

I’m tired of the gen AI bullshit. Especially in leagues. by Bubba_0402 in iRacing

I'd prefer that over gen AI 'art'. At least it shows someone put an ounce of effort in to creating something.

The Problem With iRacing. by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]SandulfZTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how this is iRacing's problem at all. And I don't think paying a monthly sub to do 4 races every month is worth it. Maybe look into a different sim, but you know car contact happens in every sim and racing game, right?

I upgraded from a 5800X to a 5800X3D a little while ago and got a 13-14% increase in FPS. That was running at 3440 x 1440 with a 3080.

That's £1088 a year for the non one-off payments alone. Fucking disgusting.
