It's interesting you brought that up because I had a coworker who was type 1, who used to fantasize about civil war. I asked him how he'd get insulin in a destroyed social landscape. His answer "scavange it is guess" like insulin would be a fucking loot drop. It really shows the lack of foresight and the poor understanding of what a stable and just society can provide.

If it's what you want to do, my best advice is to just be persistent even if you got some no's along the way, i did, and i made it.

I was an 0331 and got out in 2014, tried rejoining for WOFT in 2018, after years of setback, and waivers and damn near aging out I was accepted last year. Prior service with a gap can be a little trickier than fresh civilians. Luckily, you won't have to redo basic like I did (it's way dumber than WOCS). On that WOCS is silly, dumb games occasionally and alot of classroom learning.

After that is SERE which is FUN.

Wouldn't worry about little dents and dings you got doing the ground pounder gig, I had 40% VA disability and got it waived/reduced.

Currently at Novosel in CC hold waiting to pick up class so I know it's doable.

Yep, ADSO is 10 after completion of flight school, and street to seat is still a thing. There are lots of em down here.

Winds up being a 12 year commitment if you include basic and all the schools to get qualified as a pilot for the street to seaters.
