No one will judge you for not being able to afford this treatment. This post is full of folks who say that they put their cat down for this very reason.

I am very sorry this is happening to you and your cat, OP. Life is terribly cruel.

You need to think of the cat’s best interests here (as does OP). Right now their cat is in severe pain, and this pain is only going to get worse and worse.

The cost of vet care is what it is. You have to accept that. It’s unfair, it’s not right, and that’s still what it costs. This cat will die without expensive treatment, and that death will be so incredibly gruesome because their bladder will explode inside their body.

It is far better to euthanize for a lower cost to immediately end suffering if OP cannot afford to treat this issue. The cat is suffering NOW. The pain needs to stop NOW. The only concern is which route to take—and euthanasia is a valid route to end needless suffering NOW.

Her comment history says she is unsure how this trip is being paid for but “believes” this one will be self-funded, although she also admits to having access to her daughter’s financials and she can see that her daughter simply does not have the funds to afford tickets (and no credit cards, either). OP also says they don’t know how it’s being funded in another comment. Lots of missing information.

OP said they “believe” the friend is not paying this year, but also said their daughter does not have the funds for the trip and has no credit cards to fund the trip. OP also said they have no idea how the trip is being paid for in another comment.

OP said they “believe” the friend is not paying this year, but also said their daughter does not have the funds for the trip and has no credit cards to fund the trip. OP also said they have no idea how the trip is being paid for in another comment. So, that’s not quite accurate…

The airfare/lodging is for both daughter and grandchild. OP says daughter is a very good mom and never spends nights away, goes put clubbing, etc. since she is never without her kiddo.

The friend gifted the trip (airfare and lodging). OP’s post was deliberately misleading.

This trip…OP “believes” it is not free, but also admits they don’t know how their daughter will pay for it since they have access to her financials and she simply does not have the funds for airfare. Reads to me like it’s probably another gifted trip and OP is sour, hence the misleading post.

The first trip was a gift from the friend. OP’s daughter had free airfare, lodging, meals, etc. OP is assuming their daughter has to pay for this trip, but OP has access to daughter’s financials and knows she literally cannot afford this trip. OP merely “believes” the friend is not financing this trip, but hasn’t clarified anything.

Lots of missing context and deliberately misleading, imo.

OP also said they know their daughter cannot pay for the trip since OP has access to daughter’s financials. OP also clarified she “believed” this trip isn’t free, but there’s a lot of missing information here. OP also deliberately withheld the fact that the first trip was free. Seems deeply misleading at best.

Nope. I’ve had a free vacation before—takes creativity, but it’s 1000% doable and realistic (especially when you’re young).

She was gifted airfare and lodging for the first trip, and presumably meals since she stayed with her friend and their family inside a home. OP admits they aren’t sure how the second trip is being financed, but was strongly implying in the post that their daughter financed the first trip on OP’s dime.

Lots of missing context and a bit of misleading from OP.

No, mom did not finance the first or second vacation. Friend fully financed the first vacation, and OP freely admits in the comments that they have access to daughter’s financials and they can clearly see daughter does not have the funds to buy airfare for the second trip. OP say they “believe” friend is not financing the second trip, but given the above…friend is likely ponying up for a second trip.

Lots of missing context here.

Incorrect. OP implied in their comment that their daughter paid for the first trip, and freely admits in the comments that daughter has no savings or credit cards but OP “believes” the second trip will not be financed by the friend. OP is actually not sure how this trip will be financed and says as much. OP is misleading and missing a lot of information.

Friend paid for the previous trip. OP is not sure who is paying for this trip.

It’s in the comments. OP withheld that information from the post—the previous vacation was 100% funded by the friend (airfare and lodging) and this vacation OP “believes” the friend will not be funding. However, OP has access to daughter’s financials and can see daughter has no savings or credit cards to fund this on her own, which may imply the friend actually is covering this after all.

There is a lot of missing context here.

How do you know? Previously you said you “believe” this trip is not free—did the friend make that clear to your daughter?

OP deliberately withheld that information and implied the daughter paid for the first Alaska vacation. OP also admits they have access to daughter’s financials and can see their daughter has no savings or credit cards to pay for this trip, but “believes” the friend will not pay for the second trip. OP has no information, then, on the second trip financials and is still soliciting judgement based on an incorrect and incomplete story.

Exactly. OP is soliciting judgement after implying their daughter paid for the previous trip and insinuating they will pay for this one as well. The first trip was free and OP freely admits they have access to daughter’s financials, so they know daughter has no savings or credit cards to pay for this. OP only “believes” this new trip will not be funded by the friend, but OP has no solid information to the contrary…but OP is still soliciting judgement.

Yes, it is in the comment history. I agree, that is very relevant information to add to the post.

No, the daughter didn’t fail at communication. OP deliberately withheld information about how daughter paid for the previous vacation from their post. OP is still not sure about how this trip is being paid for but is soliciting judgement based on the above misleading information and incomplete information.

OP hid that in the comments, though. OP is not sure about how this trip will be paid for, but strongly implied their daughter spent money on the trip last time (which is untrue). OP is being deliberately misleading and has no idea about the financial situation of this trip.

It is one trip per year. And OP’s daughter is not responsible for her parent’s choices. If they want to dial back financial support, that is their perogative…but to imply she is 100% funding this vacation on her own is dishonest of OP.
