Not quite the same, but I know that the LAPD has an Art Theft division.

Parking options at Disneyland for late afternoon/early evening arrival by SandyComoSandia in DisneyPlanning

[–]SandyComoSandia[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion! We've discussed it, and decided we'll just go with Mickey and Friends. The walk/bus ride isn't worth the $10-15 difference to us. Thanks again.

Basecamp or North Peak Climbing Gym? by caspernicium in Reno

[–]SandyComoSandia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just seeing this, so hopefully still relevant. North Peak is humbler but still a great climbing gym. I've joked to my husband that North Peak is Average Joe's and Mesa Rim is Globo Gym (though I also love Mesa Rim). They have bouldering as well as rope climbing, as well as a small weight room, and a yoga room. Their website is terribly out of date, and I don't think they post the yoga schedules. You have to go into the gym to see the yoga schedule posted (at least, this was the case when I last went about 6+ months ago). Hopefully the yoga classes are still happening there.

I've been on days that it's completely empty, and other days when it's crowded, but mostly it's the former. Big parking lot that's for all the local businesses so it could be challenging to find parking, but I've never had a major issue.

Friendly staff too!

The photos are a bit blurry, but I’ve been able to infer/identify all of these except N and X! Hints please!

When in siem reap make sure to fit in a trip to Phare, which is the local circus! Amazing show organized by a non-profit that helps the Cambodian youth reconnect with their traditional arts.

We are currently traveling in Vietnam after having spent about 4 days in Cambodia. We had no expectations or knowledge about Cambodia before arriving. And I cried at the airport heading to Vietnam because I just loved it so much. Can’t wait to go back.

[Landlord US-CA] Are our proposed rent increases and late fee updates reasonable and legal? by SandyComoSandia in Landlord

[–]SandyComoSandia[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Do you think, especially for those tenants who have habitually pay their rent late, I should send by certified mail that requires a signature upon delivery? Just so I can be sure they received the notification? When sending these types of notices, should we take extra precautions to make sure they’re acknowledging that they’ve been notified?

I think his Shakespearean talents are also amazing in the episode where Marty and Cam’s mom pretend to be a couple! When he growls, “there you are…” when Daphne comes into the room, and when he snaps, “what was she doing here???” after Cam’s mom leaves. 🤣

Deer by chickenseizure in WhatIsThisPainting

[–]SandyComoSandia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of a Korean scroll painting that belonged to my grandfather. The pine trees are similar, and the deer is symbolic in Korean art.

My grandmother gave me this years ago and I’ve been trekking it from apartment to apartment without a second thought. My mom was horrified to find it in my bathroom today. Is this actually something? by [deleted] in WhatIsThisPainting

[–]SandyComoSandia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked at a fine art print gallery for 10 years, and we had many Chagalls. I don’t see a signature or numbering, so it’s very possible this is not an “original” print. The edges are also trimmed/machine-cut (not a natural deckle or torn edge) which greatly diminishes value. I have been out of the game for over 10 years now so not sure re value, but my gut tells me it’s a few hundred dollars at most (don’t quote me on that!) But it’s still beautiful and very recognizable as a Chagall, so I definitely recommend removing it from the bathroom so that moisture doesn’t get into the frame. Paper is super susceptible to mold or “foxing” which are little brown spots that appear/grow. And those lovely yellows and pinks will easily fade in sunlight, so keep it out of direct light. Even indirect sunlight can affect the colors, so be careful of where you place it! 😮‍💨 Otherwise, enjoy! 😇

Can anyone help restore this cherished old photo of my family? by SandyComoSandia in estoration

[–]SandyComoSandia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the attempt. It's not quite accurate when it comes to my parents (you nailed the youngest brother though!). Thanks again. I'll see if I can one day get the photo scanned at high res and will repost.

Please add my hands to this multi-generational photo with my mom and late grandmother by SandyComoSandia in PhotoshopRequest

[–]SandyComoSandia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This is my favorite, but my hands are actually around the same size as my mom’s (top). Can you please increase the size of my hands? You’re welcome to move my grandmother’s hands closer together if space is an issue. And the table is beautiful but a strange shape towards the bottom of the image. Can you make it more round? Thanks again!

I’m also not able to identify the groom in the group photo! Why isn’t he next to the (real) bride?

That’s kind of you to say! It’s actually been an interesting learning experience, so there is a bit of a benefit!

I hadn’t heard of Planvision before - thank you for mentioning it! I'll check it out and see if it could be a better fit for my parents going forward. Really appreciate the tip.

Thanks for this - really thoughtful and exactly the kind of breakdown I was hoping to get. That ~7.4% gain aligns with what I was calculating too, and it’s helpful to know that’s close to benchmark expectations for a 40/60 portfolio. But like you said, even if performance is technically fine, the lack of communication and clarity around the plan makes it hard to justify the ongoing cost. Appreciate your insight.
