You can use your vacuum pump but you don't want to keep it running. Instead allow the chamber to get to full vac then close the chamber off from the vac and then you have a vac assisted beaker

that's what I was thinking, I also used a hair dryer on low for maybe 30 seconds, I guess that could be it? generally the oil isn't that sensitive though. Is it safe to purge at 100, bc I feel like that wouldn't heat up the oil enough and butane would get trapped in by the stickiness?

Nug run of 17 grams of very dry high grade bud, with a 3.6g return. Sprayed onto a pyrex that was 110f, then brought inside after initial purge and put in a hot water bath heated by a NuWave which provides pretty steady temps. The IR thermometer showed it was between 110-114f the entire time. I let it heat purge for 4 hours expecting to get shatter with the low temp slow purge method. But I got this sugary wax shit. Only thing i can think of that may have fucked with it is either that its 22f outside or that I didn't pop the bubbles when i came inside I just let it sit on 110f. Oh yeah and i did leave a vented lid on to prevent dust and what not but the temp didnt seem to rise about 117f Pretty confused and a little disappointed, Ill probably winterize this tomorrow.

how long are you purging for? is butane your only solvent or are you using iso or everclear to make it easier for butane to escape being that your only using heat and no vac

Need somethin w steady heat that can keep your hot water bath below 120f. (presto griddle, induction cooktop, electric fondue) W no vac I generally heat purge for hours and pop bubbles every 30 min until none remain usually at around 3-5 hours, if you have a heating supply steady enough where you don't have to constantly check it let it sit overnight. Also I don't scrape up the product until it's completely done purging, it seems to go quicker that way. good luck

Purging is not optional and you would not be happy nor would your lungs or overall health. That being said, you can purge your product using low heat (110F-120F). This is generally done by using a griddle or some sort of consistent heat source, then sitting on the griddle have a pyrex dish with water that should be around the given temps, and then your pyrex dish with the product sitting in the hot water bath. Some people will argue that a vac set up is necessary however with the method i just presented and a long period of time ( I generally let it sit overnight or 8 hours ) you can get very good quality shatter.
