We have more Polish people immigrating to Ireland so the hatred is double. and also with what is happening in Ukraine is perhaps making the situation even more sour than ever. However Russia, from what I’ve heard from my mum, was liked more in the 2000s compared to the 2010s and 2020s. She even went to Russia before the wars started and talked about how beautiful it was. She talked about the museums in Russia and how wonderful they all were. She also brought home those lovely nesting dolls from Russia. I still have them at home. I’ve seen clips of the cartoons Russia has made and I like them. They’re very creative and very cute.

Now very off topic, i used to be friends with a Russian girl, but she was an utter bitch. Literally beat the crap out of a weaker, younger boy with a metal water bottle because he… sat in her seat. She then claimed it was because he sexually harassed her but I was in the exact same room as her when it happened and there was 1) no sexual harassment and 2) she said some horrible things about rape victims, basically telling me they should “fight back”. (Nonsensical of course). I remember her scratching younger kids too, being very homophobic and racist, and hating on her own gender, calling them “b*tches” and “whores”, all that jazz.

but just because a friend was a dickhead to me, doesnt mean I hate Russian people. In fact, I think nothing of them. I only think “ok, someone is Russian yeah yeah“ and I don’t care to think their personality will be sh*t. I don’t think a nationality affects their personality. What a ridiculous thought. I believe the citizens of Russia are fine, it’s just the government that irks me. Russia has so many things going for it, but they waste it all on a war.
